2004 SL Nav Not working right???

Hello,
Just bought a 2004 SL with 36,000 miles on it. Great car so far except when you try and put an address in the nav system no states come up. It's stuck on California. It beeps and says no data or no lists. Was hoping it was me being stupid but i dont think so... at least not this time. If I scroll on the map to my destination it will navigate me there but not by putting in an address. Pretty useless if you ask me. Anyone have this issue or have any advice???

Thanks
Pat

I recommend doing a search on this. sounds like a programming issue with the nav. Might have to reinstall OS or reload the map disk. Call customer service at the local dealer and ask one of the techs. Hopefully you have extended warrenty just in case.

You already tried to change the state before entering the address?

Hit the Dest button, select address/street and scroll up so State is highlighted then select it. This will allow you to enter in the state.

If you've tried that already and it is stuck in CA then its time for a trip to dealership.

Good luck and I hope you figure it out

Yea, I was thinking of that... maybe updating the firmware in the dvd player unit. The dealer did put in upgraded map disk in. I'll look into that but I do have an bumper to bumper on it so I may bring it in.

Thanks
