Stillen won't fit 05 and up. Progress rear, Altima SE-R front, or Nismo F&R for Altima.

Where can you buy the Nismo ones? And how hard are they to install...to give me a good time estimate, assume it took me 45 minutes to do my intake, lol. Also, when you put the swaybars in, do you need to get the car aligned?

Guys, sorry to bring this thread back from the dead but I'm having a hard time finding a FRONT swaybar. I have found the Progress rear bar at Autosportstyle.com for $121.20 but I cannot for the life of me find a front sway bar. I see Stillen has one for an '04 but as stated above by RHMax it apparently doesn't fit '05 and '06. I'd like to go ahead and buy them at the same time. Any help from the peeps?

Ok, nm. I'm getting mostly what I need in the mod section. Although several of those links are out of date.

If you find a how-to let me know. I'm doing the rear one here in a few weeks...

anything that fits an 04 maxima will fit the 05/06 the 3 are identical, and the 02-06 V6 altima is also a good reference.

rear sway bar is cake but I broke a socket on the last bolt which stripped the bolt and eventually ended up paying someone to cut it off, that added up fast the front is not easy but is doable, but get a friend or just pay a shop to do it, in the end my bars where free and install was free but paying to have that bolt replaced was more then I wanted to

Does the rear need to be jacked up in the air to install it? I have ramps, can I just roll the rear up on ramps?

Are you 100% sure about that? I just find it weird that a very reputable company like Stillen advertises a 2004 rear sway bar, but not a 2005 or 2006. Maybe I'll give them a call on Monday to ask but I'm hesitant to purchase. Especially after RHMax stated above that it wouldn't fit the 05 and up.

The Stillen rear Anti-sway bar will only fit an 04, need Progress for an 05/06

Is the Altima SE-R FSB worth it if one is going to have the Progress RSB and the new Racingline FSTB? If I understand correctly, too much correction on the front will cause excessive oversteer??? Anyone running the full set up and can chime in?

Actually I think !PrjctMax! is running that set up - is it worth it man? I have an 04 Auto, soon to be with the RSB and the FSTB...worth the extra cash for the FSB?

You should ask Deus, he has the SE-R Front Anti-sway bar and he autocrosses with it, no better man to answer your questions...

The rear end (both sides at the same time) has to be jacked up and take of both rear wheels (easier).

You need a Hydraulic jack & 2 jackstands. Be sure to spray the bolts before hand with PB "Fabulous Blaster" a thread loosener. Be sure to have a rachet with a long handle for leverage.

Regarding the Progress Sway Bar. It is "WAY" thicker and heavier than the stock sway bar. I can attest to this. So, for $122 it's a great value. With the saving in money you can get endlinks or something else that meets your fancy.

PM Deus, he has the 411, if I remember correctly, about $150 and he did the install himself which required dropping the front sub-frame...

my bad I did not realize the bar in discussion was the stillen RSB.

I have the Stillen FSTB and the Front and Rear Nismo sways, the car should have came from the factory like this at least the SE, this car feels so planted around turns and I've pushed it hard entering on and off ramps and it leaves me speechless, I would say if handling is what you want then do the upgrade and hang with the bimmers in the twisties when pushed the car becomes more of a drivers car instead of the cruiser

Next up will be tires, endlinks and suspension then breaks, etc...

The alignment changed slightly so when progress developed theirs, it was designed around the 05 platform...

STILLEN developed theirs on the 04 platform...

I think that it is a very worthy mod! I got it for $92.44 shipped from this website...http://www.trademotion.com/partlocat...?siteid=214143

It's not working now... but try it later. I think the part numbers are still in the stickies.

Right after I installed it, I took a cruise and in tight fast turns, the front felt much "flatter," and didn't lean as much.

Ha! I just PM'd you about this!

You don't have an FSTB...I'm wondering if that compensates enough in the front - too much stiffness results in oversteer. Are you getting the Racingline FSTB?

lol, just replied to PM and the KYB AGX should compensate for the front being so stiff.

Its a fairly difficult job doing the front sway bar. I had to redo it to get the steering linkage hooked up and I did it fairly quickly once I knew what to do. I also have air tools and am a much better than average backyard mechanic. Doing swaybars with RacingLine endlinks is a great upgrade. The endlinks make a difference on their own. I have prototype front ones and am so pleased with the result.
