Rear Bumper Cover

Yesterday, after the first rain we have had in weeks, I was sitting at a light when this guy behind me slid into me. I saw him start sliding and tried to get out of his way, but not far enough. Fortunately because I got at least partly out of the way it was a glancing blow. He hit me on the right side of the rear bumper and pushed me across 2 lanes of traffic. Luckily the on coming traffic had not started to move so he didnt push me into anyone. Looks like I'm only going to need a new bumper cover, the underlying bracing doesn't look damaged. Does anybody know what that panel costs? I haven't gotten to the body shop yet and found out this afternoon he didnt have any proof of insurance for the cops so who knows where this is going to end up. Just looking for a ballpark cost.

Thanks guys (and gals),

The cops came? Thats great!!!!! This will work in your favour no matter what!!!! Do u have uninsured motorist coverage...

THIS COVERAGE IS THE BEST THING IN THE WORLD !!!!!!!!!! I m in california and for some reason(We wont say why)we have a lot of uninsured drivers. I have been hit twice in 6 months by uninsured drivers!!!!!

If this guy does have coverage, you can say that yuo want his company to just send you a check, Most will do it, Mercury does, they just sent me one 2 months ago! Get them 3 esti. and they will take an avg. and send you a check.Tell them you want to take your time to find a place that will do a "BACK TO PRIOR ACCIDENT CONDTION" . This way yuo can take your time in ordering your NEW BODY KIT!!!! This could work out in your favour man

good luck...

$250 to get a new cover, $250 to paint. I'm debating throwing a 2007 bumper on my 2004. Just need to find a place to buy the 2007 bumper...

Just went through this as well. A rear bumper is about $500-600 painted and installed.

Try to get a 2007 bumper. They're a bit more sporty.
