im about to lower my max on progress/gr2s do I NEED the camber kit or can I just get an alignment done? Id rather do the alignment if I dont need the camber kit.

IMO, you will just need the alignment.id drive it around for about a week to let it settle in then get it aligned. when i got mine done, i believe all adjustments were within spec.

99% of Maxima's lowered on Progress do not need a camber kit.

The camber kit (only available for fronts) is only if the alignment Tech. can't get your vehicle within the camber specifications. Under normal circumstances you shouldn't need one.

You do however need a (4) wheel alignment done on your car after the springs, struts, & shocks are installed.

Hey man, I just installed this exact setup on my car today. It rides like a dream now! I can definitely tell the alignment is off, though (my first clue was the fact that my steering wheel is crooked).

Strange thing, though... Right now, my front drop was about 1.25". My backs actually both got raised UP about 0.25"! This is fine with me, because it made my ground to fender height exactly 27" all around!

Anyway, I plan on driving it for a week like this, then getting it aligned...

Regarding your rear, going higher is simply impossible if installed correctly. Something is wrong with your rear installment.

Regarding your fronts, it's really hard to believe you only got 1.25 inches lower. It will settle a bit more but only by a 1/4 inch or so. Again the install sounds a bit suspicious or you measured it incorrectly to begin with. With your car being at 27 inches with stock tires after lowering actually sounds correct. After it settles it will be at about 26.75 inches. Turn the steering wheel all the way clockwise and counter clockwise. Hear any clicking noises? No? Then you're good to go in the front. The rear I would have checked. Afterall, it's a lowering spring and everybody besides yourself has gotten lower.

Post a pic and we shall take it from there (detailed sideview).

My front is quiet as can be. As for the back, I did notice some weird popping noises, but only when going around corners, and not every time. All of the noises seemed to be coming from the rear right side.

Is it possible that I was just REALLY sagging before the new spring/strut install? Is 27" where I am supposed to be in the back? The car looks great. If I can just figure out that popping noise, I will be super happy....

Jon

Oh yeah, and I did the install myself, so it is definitely possible that something got messed up!

Congrats on doing it yourself.

There is a chance the spring did not seat properly in the rear. As you know it's easy and quick to check the rears. There should not be any noises. It could be a safety issue so jump on it right away.

Yes there is a small chance you had sag but I doubt it because your car is less than 4 years old.

I will check them first thing tomorrow... Funny, because the rears seemed so much easier than the fronts... Maybe I was lulled into complacency
