Painted E&G Grille - Black

I honestly love low cost solutions to beautifying the car. You may have remembered when I tinted the emblems Pearl Black:

I decided to continue the theme by tinting the corners and painting the grille black. What do you think on the Spirited Bronze?

What do you guys think?

Next comes Black headlights with Angel Eyes and Deus' new Eyelids...

Problem is, the black is starting to chip (I even put three clear coats on).

Is there a better paint to use to protect against it (I used Krylon)

I was even thinking about using Caliper paint...

Any thoughts?

Powder Coating will not chip. Since heat is involved your grill must have no plastic, or the plastic must be removable when the powder coating is done.

There should be many shops in your area that can do the job.

I think it would look better if you painted the whole grill..I plan to buy the 07 one, and then most likely getting the whole grill powder coated black.

I powdercoated both of my grills, and so far no chips.

I don't care for it... Looks too "see through."

You should black out everything behind it as well...

You can only really see behind it close up. As you back away it disappears. I am, however, going to paint that metal bracket you can see directly behind it. Definitely a good idea.

Can I get a shop to just powdercoat the mesh, or will they have to do the entire grill? I definitely like the chrome look.

I have only had entire items powdercoated so I dont know. I think they can mask off areas to be left chrome.
