Where to jack engine for motor mount insert install?

I will be installing the front motor mount insert this weekend.
Where should I jack and support the engine from the bottom
when the motor mount is removed temporarily?
thanks

I supported mine on the tranny with a tranny support stand and some blocks of wood so I had no metal on metal contact. I also found it easier if you loosen the 2 front subframe bolts and remove the 2 bolts that are inside the driver side wheel well that goes to a shock mount on the side of the engine.

With the tranny stand you can then jack up so slightly and pull down on the subframe about 2". I also never had to physically remove the whole motor mount, just 2 bolts and tilt it forward enough so you can slip the insert in. This will not be easy and liquid soap is your friend to help slide the insert in easier. Good luck, great mod...

Ok I forgot to give more info.
I have an auto and will be doing only the front motor mount.
I didn't get the rear because of extra installation difficulty
such as disconnecting the subframe.

Chern, Did you do the rear mount. If so, how did you do it?

I have the rear insert but have not had time to install it yet. I installed the front only, so the rear is definitely on my list. When I get the Tranny upgraded, I'll add it then...

OK I have an Auto also and you don't have to drop the subframe, just loosen the 2 front bolts only and pull down on it, the two inches you gain will help a lot...

guys you think there is any truth to this?

If you buy either an insert or a polyurethane replacement mount for the front, BE SURE to get the rear as well. Installing just the upgraded front mount will cause your rear mount to be destroyed much earlier, and vice versa.

Bullet proof transmission has a rebuilt kit that strengthens some of the internals to handle the increased power on the tranny. They're out of New Jersey. This is on my list but kind of at the bottom right now...

Ok so I don't need to support the engine in any way when those two bolts have been removed?
