I would say the noise is your grille.

Mine has done it for years. Right about 45 mph.

The billet acts like a tuning fork and you get the hmmmmmmm...

Amirite?

Edit: it probably whistles like a semi when you go under overpasses as well... Mine does.

Hmmmmm Well I dont know about that because I heard it for the first time two days ago when I was driving.. I though I had hit a raccoon and it was screeching in agony but when I put the front passenger window down it was so loud that I kinda ground my teeth

It doesnt sound scary but it scared the hell out of me when I put the window down... it does sound a little like a whistle... is the noise emanating from the front of the car or the side or what? Have you tried turning it on in park and listening to it??

Im having this "sound" problem also, but Im guessing it's from the heat shield. That leads me to another question: Did anyone who had this problem with their heat shield have the part fixed? and did you get rid of the noise?

Maybe it's one of the y-pipe mounts that are cracked and making that "rattle," metal on metal noise at the RPM you said.

I been having the same problem. Normally I hear the sound when I'm driving at my jobs parking garage. It sounds like a screech/whistle sound, but it only does it when I'm on 1st and 2nd gear. As soon as I change gears and hit the gas I hear it. I know this is not my CAI because it started to do that sound before I installed it.

It's probably the brackets that hold your heat shield. They are called gussets. You can probably hear the sound around 2500RPMs when you are accelerating.

I had this problem and had the dealer fix it for me just the other day. So far I haven't heard the sound again.

I have the same noise when going around 30mph and giving light amount of gas. It literally sounds like a whistle blowing lightly. It only happens when I step on the gas very lightly while going around 30-35mph. What the hell is it

My noise is absolutely not a rattle. Its a damn whistle and it aint the grill. The whistle happens when I lightly press on the gas, if I release the whistle goes away.

Same exact thing I've got too. Mine occurs right around 1800 RPM. I've inspected the brackets extensively and they are not the problem. I've messed around with some of the heat shields to see if I could change the noise but no luck so far.

Well,

I discovered something this morning. Once I got to work and drove into the garage I didn't hear the noise. I guess it only does it when the engine is cold. Has anyone noticed this?

On your next oil change have them check a plastic piece on the lower left side of the engine, mine came loose and I kept hearing this knocking noise and was thinking the worst. Thank God it was an $8.00 piece of plastic that was replaced and the noise is now gone. I hope if you have a problem this is it.

It must be the drive by wire feeding back. Like a cordless drill with the trigger barely pressed, same sound. Wiggle the foot wiggle the sound. Mine does the same. have a great day.......................

To differentiate from this whistle to a rattle, you may be able to feel the noise in your peddle when you are driving. if it is your heat shield then you will feel it on your peddle when driving. If you cant at that certain RPM or speed, its not your exhaust or heat shields, its a monchee chee (dont know if anyone remembers these cartoon characters)
