anyone have to pull their motor?

im going to have to do it in the next week or two, waiting on my clutch and motormount inserts to come in; figured id post up and see if anyone has done this to a 6th gen and can give me some pointers?

i hope the engine/tranny will be able to come out as one as that would make this way way easier but i guess ill find out

Why are u pulling ur motor? Is it by choice or by necessity and who is doing the work. I have thought about pulling the motor when the clutch goes. Then I can replace the clutch with a stage 2, install light flywheel, do the cams, do headers, etc.

pre cat failed, caused a rear headgasket failure + god only knows what else

called around got quoted 1100-1700 to do the hg because you must pull the motor, said fvvck it, picked up a motor with 50k miles out of a wrecked maxima, for 1k

plan on pulling the harness ecu connector through the firewall and pulling hte motor with the harness attached, setting them both down side by side and doing the clutch, headers, ims, plugs, belt, ect, connect up the harness and drop it back in with the mmi's

hopfully its not to bad

no symptoms, one day my exhuast just clogged up basicly, car was struggling/bogging badly, sounded loud as hell, took it home and didnt drive it for a few months trying to figure it out, couldnt figure it out, dropped y pipe found chunks of cat, and so much dust i can only imagine what my car was blowing out.

ah ok, so usual clogged cat stuff from the sounds, I'd heard about those chunks getting sucked back into the engine and wondered if that was the signs. Good luck with the job and post pics if you can.

I have pics of my motor pulled, when my rear pre cat failed. You should be under powertrain and emissions warranty.

Powertrain is 60K
Emissions is 100K

Anywhoo, it comes down as a single unit but it comes down, u raise the car, drop the subframe, unhook the driveshafts, all cables, y-pipe, hoses, drain the ac.

A LOT more complicated then it looks.
