Maxima 2004 climate control panel opening

I have Nissan Maxima 2004 and somehow there is a stain behind the glass (on the climate control panel) which I am unable to clean witout opening the panel. Can anyone please help with instructions / illustrations as how to make this happen. Thanks in advance.

While I don't have the instructions for this handy (there used to be a sticky here, but the images were lost - luckily someone saved them and reposted it at another forums though, but don't have the link... anyone?), I believe I know what the issue is. Do you have the non-NAV version, and is it the original screen? Does it look like a mildew growth or something? I had that, and Nissan actually redesigned that portion of the console (because the plastic scratched so much - so be careful when you clean it), but the new piece basically removes all plastic covering over the LCD so it is exposed. After I did this, I got a piece of that indestructible iPod covering and attached it - now there is no possibility of scratching and the screen stays perfectly clean.

Good luck.
