Pretty straight forward. takes about 4-6 hours when changing out your struts, shocks and springs as I did, but well worth it. there are some DIY sites and getting the 17mm and 19mm bolts of including the endlink bolt is basically what it entails. Also, removing the strut bolts on top. Make sure you get a spring compressor. i would also add the FSTB from racingline if you are going through all the trouble.
Stock spring with Progress comparison:

Before drop:

strut assembly off:

KYB GR2 with Progress springs on:

After drop:

Anthony, I did that for a bit and didn't have any problems with my Eibachs on stock struts. However I've heard about quite a few 6th geners who have their stock struts blown out awhile after installing lowering springs. Basically it makes it so all the cars weight then sits on the strut. I upgraded to the Koni adjustables and rides like a dream now, thanks to my personal "suspension guy" Coolmax.

Also, it's good that you have a smoke Maxima. Not may folks know this but the smoke models are a cut above the rest.

(p.s. oops, I guess that's Dan with the smoke max).

I can not lie...what Mack says is true. The Smoke maxies have a special purdy chip implanted. I would recommend replacing the struts bc if they do blow, you will have to do the same thing again. I got my gr2s (2 struts and 2 shocks) for $192 shipped and thats the cheapest you will find anywhere.

For those who have used the springs, have you noticed any rubbing while having passengers or maybe even luggage in the car?

and....can we see more pics? thanks

I dont have those,, but from what i hear there is NO rubbing issues...

I have H&R' springs w/ gr2's paired w/ my 20's, NO problems ANYWHERE!!

I know that the eibachs are a bigger drop... but i have not seen ANY threads on rub problems...

Here is a good view of my setup/space

The springs I bought used and they are progress. The struts and shocks are new from www.apwonline.com. No one can match this price or at least I have not seen advertised.

I just installed my Progress Springs. When I went to remove the OEM rear springs, I saw that they had a hard rubber insert (can't remember the proper name) wedged in the coils. Should I place the inserts in my new springs? Does it matter?

If they are not damaged, they are fine to use.
