How many MPG do you get??
Just trying to get a basic of what the 04-06 (AUTO) is capable of getting. Let me know by stating what you average in city/highway - auto only. I know it's rated at 20/28.
Thanks everyone
Thanks everyone

I think I'm around 22 daily driving. City only I hit closer to 20. I've done over 30 on highway only. I'm anxious to see what I get now that I have the lightweight underdrive pulley installed. Supposedly to get the best MPG you get a UDP and CAI, which I have yet to test together since I just got the UDP installed.

I'm getting 21 city and some short highway. Car is still new to me so my foot is over anxious. I was hoping for better but it sure is a nice commute in this car. I am certain all highway would go up quite a bit, but 28 may be a stretch.

If all city driving - around 18-20
If all suburban driving - around 22-24
If all rural highway driving - 26-28
If all level rural interstate - 27-29
These are EXCELLENT numbers for a 3500 pound car with roomy passenger accomodations and lots of power.
I have reached 30mpg a few times, but my style of driving (fairly fast) is not conducive to getting the best mileage.

you all know what they say. don't put the AC or heat on, that includes heated seats, they eat up a lot of gas. realistically 30 or more is impossible unless your trying to get good gas millage. the best i get on high way was 22 with the AC on, 2 passengers, and not keeping an eye on RPM

I'm pretty sure the title of the posts asks "How many MPG do you get" not "what's your opinion on me posting this thread". Just answer the question if you choose to, like everyone else did, otherwise, stop whining...
Thanks

I'm pretty sure I didnt give my opinion on you posting this thread. Im also pretty sure that this topic has been discussed many many times, and a simple search would have uncovered the mystery for you.

So I guess you found a need to clutter it up with this, huh. I did search and found a lot of info, but not specific enough, hence me asking about the AUTO specifically. How come it doesn't bother anyone else but you. Pull the finger out of your *** and enjoy the learning experience. If I could give you a little smiley face with a thumbs up, I would, or the little guy with the little flamer wrist.

I guess the mpg of the 04-06 max will be different from the 07-08 max because of the introduction of the CVT. The specs for 07-08 max is 19/25 city/hwy. It is a bit unbelievable to me if someone gets close to 30mpg on a 07-08 max. I hope Nissan does not advertise its cars negatively to jeopardise sales.
My car has about 2700 miles. I have been getting 18-19mpg in city and 24-25mpg in hwy. I drive very conservatively, never letting the rpm go over 2k in city. I drive at 65-70mph in the hwy mostly on cruise. I also keep the a/c to at most 3 bars.
Note that my city driving is mostly 35-50mph with not very frequent stops. For e.g., in a 6 mile one way commute to my work everyday, I stop 2-3 times for a total of 5 mins. Hope you get an idea of my city driving.

I've been checking my mpg since the first tankful getting between 27 & 28 mpg [local/pkwy 20%/80%], during a trip 6/06 N.Y. to N.C. & back 1700 miles, avg. 27.9 mpg, with over 220 miles of up & down local N.C. mountain roads, with a lot of down hill 2nd & 3rd gear engine braking, the rest was 55 mph state/county roads, and Interstates at 65 to 80 mph, AC on all the time. During recent trips to the eastern end of Long Island I'm getting as high as 28.9 at a steady 70-75 [cruise on]. Local mpg falls in the 17.xx to 21.xx range. I've never seen less than low 17's during local driving

generally I average between 20-26mpg with the low being 16-17 but that is during the summer when I sit idle for to long and my highest being 28, I also drive foot to the floor so my numbers could be better but

One thing I have noticed that is not in accordance with a few posts here:
My mpg is about the same for fall or spring trips when the AC, heater, heated seats, heated steering wheel, etc, are totally off as it is in the winter or summer when I have accessories going full blast.
There is one particular long interstate trip I make several times each year, and I get essentially the same 29 mpg on that trip no matter the season and no matter how many accessories I have on. I'm sure there has to be some difference, but in my measurements, it is always less than 1 measly mpg.
So don't bother to be uncomfortable by avoiding things like AC just trying to save gas; you aren't saving enough to really matter. This is not totally unexpected, as I have read many times in many places that turning off the AC and opening the windows on a freeway trip results in airflow drag that wastes far more gas than the AC ever would.
