sunroof problems on a 04 plz help

sunroof problems on a 04 plz help

hey fellas today my battery went dead and i went to autozone bought a new one and replaced it... now i'm driving around and hit the button for the sunroof to go up it doesn't ... i hold it down and it finally goes up.. before i just push it and it goes up... then i push other sunroof button to go all the way open and the sunroof just stays closed ... everything else works electriclly windows lights radio just the sunroof .... idk what to do any tips? i even took the battery off again (the new one) for 20min and put it back and everything works perfect except the sunroof plz help thanx!!

i had the same problem with my 05 maxima. you kinda just have to mess around with it. after a couple of times my sunroof worked again. not sure if this is the answer you were looking for but hope it helps.

there are 2 buttons for the sunroof, that weird toggle switch that makes it slide open or close and the tilt button, hold the tilt button closed for 20 seconds and it will reset the sunroof, simply put when you disconnect the battery the sunroof does not know what position it is in so hold the button closed resets it, it's in the owners manual

I had the same problem before and reset it just like STARR mentioned and it worked.

+1 for the reset. Whenever you fiddle with the electrical system, the sunroof has to be reset.

Like STARR and 4MySwee said, THIS IS NOT A PROBLEM; this is normal. Everything is operating exactly as it is supposed to. Whenever the power is disconnected, such electrical things as radio station preselect buttons, seat and mirror preselect controls, power sunroof, etc, must be reset. This is covered in several places in the owner's manual.

Not that it surprises me but I too thought I had a problem with my sunroof and was gonna take it to the dealer. Ended up they didnt have a clue but after looking at the fsm it was clear .I sent a bill, LOL .KIdding. But I should have.

hey guys thanx for the tips i'ma try it once i sign off... i was kinda figureing the same thing that the sunroof resets but YES I DID read the owners manuel and no where in it did i see that ... so thanx again guys for your help!!!!

the answer is in your manual. yes it really is. i found it myself when i disconnected my battery.
