Bumper Project
RHMax! Thanks for posting my bumper project here on maxima.org. The myth has be proven wrong, a 07 Max Front Bumper can fit the 2004-2006 Maxima's. Posting here tonight was my orginal plan, spent a few hours today prepping it for paint on Thursday @ my freinds Bodyshop. Before I start fabricating a grill, I'm really considering a custom hood extension or just molding the opening much smaller for a much more agressive appearance. Nothing Sporty, just something real sleek & unique. Plus I'll have to order a Hid Fog kit also, but this project should be complete by Saturday. Normally, a simple project like this would only take a few days, but my compressors down, which means I'll have to head on over to my freinds shop later in the day when he's not so busy this week to complete this task. Then I have to jet on over to the paint shop a pick up a pint or maybe a quart of paint(BW9) to match the color of my car.

Bumper Swap
None what-so-ever, every screw, tab, clip, fits exactly the same as the 2004-2006 front bumper. I'm informing everyone of a quarter of an inch hood overlap with this project. Extremely minor modification to correct, especially if your a perfectionist like me. I'll post pics on how it looks tomorrow very minor detail with the hood only, everything else lines up exact.

Man I always thought about this, glad someone is trying to do it!
are you going to do the back one too??? Would love to see a 6th gen with a 6.5 gen back bumper, it looks so much cleaner and hides alot of that ugly stuff down there.

I'm currently trying to do a few "Best Offer" bids on eBay right now to get the 2007 rear bumper cheap for my 2004. I hope to have this done by the end of the year. My rear bumper has some NASTY dings/creases on it (embarrassed to drive it). I think the previous owner got a slow rear-ender and never got it fixed.

^^^ +1 on that. during thanksgiving break i am going to try to get eh fogs to be able to turn on without the headlights. ive been doing some reading in my spare time to figure out what wires and make a game plan!

Hay! Where would I find some of that data, because that's one of the main reason I performed this bumper Swap. Any information would be extremely helpful. Doesn't ChernMax, an Jsmithsole have active lower bumper fogs with there custom RLM bumper? What did those guys do, because it would be the exact same thing to do since where still considered 2004-2006 Maxima's

Bumper Swap
Correct! The first 05 maxima to eliminate the myth that the 07 maxima front bumper wouldn't fit. Well good news it does, check out the link below.

Unfortunately, No! 2004-2006 Max Grills will not fit the 07 Front Bumper what-so-ever , including activetuning grills. Unless you fabricate one yourself, I'm not sure how much smaller active tuning grills are, but the symmetry is completely different. It might be possible to alter that grill to fit, but not really sure.

The first pic shows a circle of the small area, with two vertical lines going through it, between those two lines is the very small over-lap section that occurs. Extremely minor mod that can be shaved, Heat flexed, or just hood extend the entire edge of the hood. Plenty of option.

Mack! I'm gonna have to agree with you on those (2) points made.
That's when creativity/uniqueness comes in to play, I've done alot
of body molds & some light fabricating for my vehicles in the past.
So, tomorrow I'm going to pick up a used 07 O.E.M Grill, bore out the middle,
then do some fiberglass work around the outer frame, purchase some good mesh grade. An I should have a pretty cool looking grill for my first project or might just perform a hood extension like the second pic below.

It's a local Shop here in town called StarTech, I'll retrieve the companys number for you tomorrow. Below are just a few pics of the hood extension project started today. Tonight, I really have to decide on how much lower to extend the hood. So, that I can finish it up for painting this weekend.
