New Battery

My Optima battery went dead so since I didn't want to spend 189 dollars on a new one I brought a gold top battery at Auto Zone. It has a 8 year warranty. 1st 3 years is free replacement. There also gave me a card for free jumps. Only problem it doesn't fit in the battery bracket that I have. My son Felix is going to take it out and put in the OEM plate. Most likely I will sell it. I want to give it a real good cleaning before I post it. It will only work with a optima battery.

When I go to buy a battery I dont go by model number. I measure to see if it will fit and that positive and negative are on the same. I then look for on with both top and side post and one that has the highest cca and reserve. My father in law will only use a red top in his dragster.

OK, standing by.

I expect to get about 6-7 years out of my red top. Knowing that I do million short trips per day I will charge the battery every winter or maybe twice a year in June and December. We'll see.

So far it works like a charm.
