What springs do you have on your car?
Thanks.

Yeah, I updated the sig first before I had the time to process photos for listings. As to springs, we both have Progress all around with GR-2s in all 4 corners.

Yes they do and some prices are within reasonable limit. I don't mind spending couple of extra bucks at a decent shop. But I was quoted $500 bucks for swapping springs, sway bar, struts and shocks. Everybody here knows it shouldn't cost more then $200 It is probably because they don't do it inhouse but outsource it "next door".

They are more after high end cars with owners with deep pockets. Here at the Brooklyn shop, Maxima looked totally out of place comparing to all the other cars coming in. They are not desperate for business, thats for sure, so they can be picky and choosy when it comes to their customers. I personally think there is nothing wrong catering to smaller/richer audience if that is their business plan but I refuse to be ripped off on basic stuff that someone else can do with same precision much cheaper.

In conclusion, if you need custom stuff fabricated or some elaborate electronics done, they are the guys. But if you need basic mods done, anyone else can do it at a fraction.

Sorry if this sounded like a rant, just stating my true feeling.

5th one from the bottom!

Xoomer, how much of an improvement over the stock calipers did you notice? I doubt you had them on the stock rotors so its prob hard to tell. Usually a caliper change with same size rotor is done for cosmetics (they look hella sweet) or quick pad changes. I prefer slotted only rotors due to cracking problems but I am sure your setup dropped your stopping distances by a few feet. Looks tight under those 19's.

The setup is great. I had some mild squeeling at the begining but that went away as the pads broke-in. I will try wilwood street pads next as from some research these might be better than Hawks. People report very inconsistent results from Hawk pads so we'll see where it goes. Overall, I am very satisfied.

Cool, just curious to see if its a noticeable seat belt locker-upper compared to the stock brakes. I am pretty impressed with the stock setup and while autocrossing didn't notice any fade. I am sure on a true road course there would be some rotor issues. The price for those Wilwoods is way too tempting! Who is your source for rotors? I have StopTech's on the truck, crazy expensive. Maybe someone on here has tried the Axxis Street pads.

Once it grabs, it GRABS. Makes the easy smooth stops harder because it takes less to bite. I have the cheapest setup available and they are installed over RotoPros OEM sized rotors. If you have more money to burn, definitely go with 2-piece 13.25 or 13.6" rotors (waaaaaaaaaay lighter). Unfortunately my reef wants to "eat" too so between all the mouths I have to feed, my spending is somewhat limited.

My 2 month old daughter will soon take over considerable percentage of my budget, hehe but hey we'll manage; always have, always will.

Glad to hear the brakes were worth the cashola, not a bad deal there. No, unfortunately I don't have money to burn. Got a few more payments on the truck to make then there will be some money free'd up to knock out the rest of the bills. Still can't believe I bought those 350Z wheels. Will prob focus on tires for those and a front strut brace. Kids will be around a lot longer than our cars, and if they grow up to be superstars they can buy you some mega-toys! A la Ferrari...
