Havent experienced that myself but i have read on the org that the 6th gen cd players have a hard time working properly in the cold weather. I live on Long Island where it is currently about 38degrees and mine works a-o-k .

i'm having a problem with mines. I stick in any cd and I get a check disk error on my info screen for 1-6 even if the cd is new.

I had problems also. I had to have my head unit replaced twice, and even then, the third unit had some hiccups. They were rare, but they did exist.

If memory serves me correctly, Bose have had a few issues in the Maxi's. I believe the 5th gen can attest to this as well. I loved my Bose, but I wasn't an Audiophile.
