Anyone using the USA SPEC PA11-NIS?

I am interested in using this to run my Ipod, I have factory Bose with navi. It appears like it will work altho I am uncertain if it will connect thru sat or thru cd changer thus loosing cd changer functionality. I want answers from people actually using it / first hand experience. I was looking for something that would work with factory controls... if not i guess i will get the pac / pxni unit and just control from the ipod itself. I know with the pac unit I just give up the "sat" which i dont use anyway. BTW I have checked out the confusing ipod thread in the audio forum, Also crutchfield sais it wont work while discountcarstereo sais it will.

I thought you had the pac/pxni unit which I know connects thru sat button you have the USA spec as well? If you have the usa spec and want to sell it let me know how much, I can get it locally for $110 but wouldnt mind saving a few bucks.

I believe this is the same part that works on our 6th Gen cars. Great price and it's the one that allows up to two devices (if you had SAT it would still work).

Yea you need a sat button to run it. My friend bought the unit before he realized it. Whoops.

Thanx man, I am very aware of the pac unit and how it works. Love there products (use a pac unit to run my amps) but I liked/interested in the USA spec unit because it allows u to control ipod thru the factory radio and steering wheel.

So everyone my question still is about the USA spec unit PA11-NIS unit... is it a quality product that works thru radio controls and I only give up sat option?

Yes, this is what you want.

I believe, don't quote me, but I believe you'll get words on the unit if your radio is above a certain serial number. Forgive me but there were 32923 threads on this and all the info is messed up in my head...

Just installed the PA11-NIS in my son's '01 this weekend. Works perfectly, as has the PA11-VOL that I have had installed in my S60T5 for about two years. I'd have no reservations recommending as long as it was correct for your car.

Same set up as you but in an '05SE. It works just fine. I've had it for about a year. The only downside is that you get a high pitched whine that goes along with the engine. Not very audible except for on silent passages of music. For the $$$, it can't be beat.

How to install USA-SPEC?

Guys,
I have searched and searched. So far I can't find directions for taking the minimum amount of stuff off the car, to get to the connector on the HU to attach USA SPEC IPOD interface.
I have a 2004 SE with Bose radio.

Please send a link to these. Don't have to be photos. Just directions.

TIA.

If you bought the unit brand new, it'll come with instructions. I installed mine in about 20 mins or so.. very easy. I can still use my CD changer fine, even though for some reason it operates using the CD button..
