Actually I MAKE the time and I enjoy modding my car. It wont bottom out at all since its pretty high off the ground. Its about 1 1/2 inches lower than the Stillen kit. Many other things would hit the ground first before this piece.

Looks like it was the prototype GTR. The final version had no rear diffuser. Here is a pic

And a close up of the rear:

I have to figure out a way to attach the diffuser to the main part. Any ideas?? Photoshoppers?

I have an idea. How about if I make the main part of the valence and the diffuser SEPARATE. I can make the valence like I was going to anyway and then make the diffuser out of ABS plastic (same stuff I made the splitter out of) and then shape it with heat gun so it has that downward part at the end and thicken it with fiberglass so it tapers at the end??

Thanks ecksy. Thats really really nice looking. The problem is, I cant make the curves like the GTR, since the GTR has a different shape then the maxima rear. Can you conform the GTR rear to the shape of the maxima rear (square the exhaust openings more and have the top of the valence follow the maxima lines, rather than the curvy GTR lines)? Also, have 3 equal spaced diffuser fins, instead of that funky set up there (2 center diffuser fins with a red light in the middle).

Here is a better pic to use too if you like:

I am somewhat confused here. Is this what your conceptualizing? If it's not, do me a favor. Draw up a quick sketch of what you think the rear should look like. Something rough and simple. I wasn't sure if you wanted the exhaust pipes encapsulated by the bumper. Judging from the GTR bumper, I suppose that is what you wanted. Give me more information because I am anxious to redo this. Properly.

Ill draw it and take pics of the drawing. The top edge is exactly right though. Bottom is kinda dark and hard to see.

It's easy to attach it to the oem bumper use the 2 / 2 1/2 inch bottom line of the oem bumper an drill holes in it across the hole bottom of the bumper so it is securly mounted. The new rear valance would have double threaded studs above each other (aprox 4 to 5 spread evenly) and only need to be long enough for the washers and nuts from the inside.

Hey Deus,

Ive been off the forum for a while. Bronchitis had me down. What you are doing is unreal bro!! Good Luck with the project. IMO, whatever bumper style you finally mold, I think the exhaust tips should at least be equal in Circumference as the Greddy system. If the tipis were more round then it would look slammin IMO. Good Luck bro!!

Nothing wrong with rear lip I have. I just think I can do better. If I did red roof, I'd do something like this:

Im drawing an overlay to go on my valence to see what it would really look like. I think I can make the GTR bumper work. Also, the stock pipes or cattman exhaust would also fit. Im not 100% sure of OEM pipes. If someone canmeasure the distance from the outside of the left exhaust pipe on teh drivers side to the outside of teh right pipe on the passenger side, that would be helpful. My Cattman system is 44". I'll lay the drawing on teh valence and u guys let me know what you think. I'll also have to reveal my secret idea. I am going to incorporate a small splitter under valence that is under the exhaust pipes. It will be an extension of the center diffuser and is going to look SUPER COOL. Just wait. Drawing to come soon if I can stay awake. Is anyone still up?

Here is my drawing of the Nissan GTR Prototype rear valence which will be grafted on to the rear bumper:

There are some minor differences:
-There arent as many angles since the Maxima bumper goes straight across
-I will put mesh around the exhaust pipes instead of a solid piece that the GTR has.
-Instead of having the diffuser hanging at its ends, I will have it continue on and swoop under the bottom part of the area under the exhaust pipes and around the sides where it will stick out about 1-2 inches as a splitter
-I may or may not include that little red light that is in the middle of the diffuser, in between the diffuser fins.

Any thoughts, ideas, questions, comments, suggestions??

Photoshoppers!!!! Feel free to graft this design on to this pic:

The one thing that bugs is that Im going to have to trim the rear bumper all the way up to the red line like so:

Once I cut, there is no going back!!

Don't forget to trim those toenails before you're done with this, thats an accident waiting to happen if they get any worse.

Looks like the mufflers are gonna have to be raised - which is good in terms of looks, because this valence is gonna make the rear look less bulbous. Right now, the bottom of the mufflers are about 7 inches from the upper edge of the valence. The valence is 5 1/2 inches, so that means Ill either have to thicken it, or raise the mufflers over 2 inches. I think Ill do a combination of both. I think Im gonna thick the valence to 7 inches and raise mufflers about an inch. That means that the lowest part of the valence will be where the bottoms of the mufflers are now. Now ground clearance will be identical to what it is now.

Also, Im taking into account the proportional size of the valence to the rest of the bumper. I dont want it too small or too large.

Any thoughts? U guys are quiet today. Could use feedback.
