The last pic shows it really taking shape. Just need to get the final shaping and make sure its symmetrical on both sides. I may bolt it to the car to see how it looks. U guys want pics of that if I do?

Ok, here are updated pics. I decided to mold in the two center diffuser fins, rather than add them later. I also cut out a place for the center red light. I put a piece of electrical tape there to show you how it would look. Still have more shaping and sanding to do. It takes time to dry and sand, so thats the reason for the delay.

Another idea is to put a layer of resin down to fill in smaller divots, sand it down and then make my mold from that by covering it with release agent and/or aluminum, and then make the mold using fiberglass and resin, and then shape the mold and make my part using the release agent again and laying fiberglass on the INSIDE of the mold.

I'm not sure. I don't think soo.
I'd try a google search for that one. (you wont find any kind of help at bondo.com)(their website sux)
I know your worried about weight, soo dont use too much. I tried the resin at first for an interior project and I'd have to say the resin weighs at least 5 times as much as the putty.
It's also a b@#$h to sand, and loves to drip over everything.

Im just making a plug at this point so weight doesnt matter to me. The final product will be fiberglass as will the mold to make the final product. I remember there is epoxy putty that is great stuff for filling in minor divots, that I used when I made my roof spoiler. I will have to try to locate some unless someone can point me in a different direction.

On the 1" you can use plumbers epoxy putty.
On the smaller imperfections, you can use the bondo spotting and glazing putty.(comes in a toothpaste tube, no hardener, easy to use)

I may go for the bondo spotting. The main shaping is pretty much done. When I finalize that then I need to spot putty. Then it will be time to make the mold. For that I have to be very picky, because the product comes directly out of that mold. Its looking pretty sharp in person already, especially with the fins molded in and the little red light in the middle.
