Thats a really respectable time. I have seen a good bit higher from people NOT stock.

Plus I wanted to see what my car could run with the right driver of course.

Thanks.

You should be in the mid 12's seeing that C6 you smoked can put down solid 12.8's.

Does anyone have any 1/4 mile times for stock or modded CVT Max's? I was not too happy to see the lighter Altima with CVT only putting up a 14.8 with more power in the 08 years. Mine certainly feels faster than that.

Excellent times DRod!

I have a feeling that you don't quite know for sure I was just kidding.

I'll put it to rest.

There's a .org member named Big Dave that claims he ran a 14.53@94.7 in his stock 2007 Maxima SE CVT. So, who knows.

Cool, I can accept that. Cold weather here would be nice to get out to HRP but I'd rather not beat on it. I'm sure its more fun on the street like my truck. Traction issues and drag racing do not go hand in hand. VLSD and drag radials would be another story.

Wow, nice that you can get some runs in this time of year. Good 60' times as well. How are you launching?

My experience with CAI is that my "off the line" power is lower and top end seems better. I bet running in that cold air really helped too. The coldest I've ever ran in is 67degrees.

Very nice times. Are you on RS-A's?

I power brake (I haven't looked) probably up to about 2,000-2,200RPM, and let go at the light. I don't add anymore gas until I feel the car rolling a bit so I don't break 'em loose. I ease into the gas and then nail it. Of course, all of this is within seconds, but a little practice, and you'll get it right. Oh...and I use the Tiptronic shifting. With my old car (Grand Prix GTP), the CAI was also a bottom-end booster. Top end didn't come until the exhaust was improved. I definitely feel the difference down low in the butt dyno.

Thanks. I'm actually on Toyo T1Rs with 19" G35 Coupe wheels. I never ran the Max with the stock 18s. BUT, I ran my GTP with the RS-As and pulled 1.9x & 2.0x 60ft times. People are quick to knock the tires before they try to get a feel for them. There are definitely better tires out ther than RS-As, but it shouldn't be impossible (just very difficult) to get a 2.1x 60ft in a stock Max w/RS-As. Just my $0.02.

I'm not knocking RS-A's, they're all-season tires. With my mods, especially TS ECU, the traction wasn't there to be found. I spun a 2.28 60', but kept spinning with less than half throttle thru 1st gear; plus it was windy and dusty. I haven't been back in over a year, but planning to go back this season with better tires.

Those are excellent times for just an intake. did you deflate the tires by any amount?

Oh...no, no. I wasn't implying that you were knocking the tires. I'm just speaking in general terms...alot of the Grand Prix guys hated 'em. Keep us posted on your new times.

Thanks, SN. Actually I didn't deflate them at all. I used to do that with my GTP, but not with the Max...yet. I'm heading back out to the track again tonight for another go. I have very little gas left, which is how I like to do it. I may try defalting the tires some this time as well.

Most FWD's the tranny puts the engine offset to one side. When I used to race my SHO we'd run slightly higher pressure on the heavy side. I.E. 25 left/20 right.

Yeah...same with Grand Prixs. I honestly don't even bother. I might catch a nosebleed if I thought about it too hard. LOL!

Haha, its prob not worth it anyway. But that would explain why my drivers side spins instead of passengers. Traction control off with cold weather was fun yesterday.

My bad. I didn't know you were that quick. Do you think those wheels will have a reverse effect though? Even though they are 20's they don't really look that heavy. JW.
