Alright guys.... I found andy (blue bat) a guy with a skyview that's local in SD. The guy followed me to ask about my overlay, and It was luck that he happened to have a skyview 05 Maxi... He spoke to Andy already and they're hooking up soon to get the skyview version made.

hang on tight guys... it's gonna happen VERY soon. That sucks though... I thought I was gonna be the only guy in San Diego with the overlay... AHHHHHHHHHHHH lol

hey mr.Bat any love for 00-03 maximas and i30/i35's?? i personally have a 2k i30 and was quoted 140 to do the roof overlay from a local shop from here in ny... but if you are willing to make a roof overlay for us 5th gen and i30/i35 guys i would love to support you bcus you have a great reputation and have love for maximas... please give this some thaught.

BTW: to 04maxxxfreak, you car is looking sick and what kind of lip spoiler you have? i hope it something that will fit my car too.

I bought my lip spoiler off eBay... around $60-$70 painted and shipped. Here's a link to an I30 lip spoiler I found. I'm not sure if it's painted... you probably have to email them and ask. I didn't buy my spoiler off these guys tho.

Make sure you have 2-3 people help you with the roof install. A lot of patience is required. If you have attempted to tint your lights using Bats overlay's, you will know what i am talking about...

 

I was going to take it to a local tint shop... they said they could do it??

I sent BB an email about a week ago and just heard back early this morning about the status of the skyview overlays. He says they should be out sometime within the next week! Can't wait. unfortunately I have no more details than that. The email was short n' to tha point. lol. Anyways, like I said, can't wait until I can place my order .

 

If Bat already made an overlay for the 6th gen max then why cant he just use the same exterior edge dimensions and make another one for the skyview or for a solid roof with no skyview or sunroof and then you cut out the openings yourself after its applied to the roof.

Vinyl isn't cheap bro for him to be wasting that much vinyl. The roof overlay is NOT 1 big piece.. it's actually two pieces that need to be installed at the same time. He doesn't have the 1 piece setup yet becuz the roll for that costs $2000 +, depending on the vinyl you buy. No vinyl shop will just give you a universal piece that you can just "cut out"... they all give you exactly as much as you need to get the job done, and the remainder can be used for other clients that need vinyl. It's not really about "convenience"... it's a matter of cost from the business owner's point of view.

 

Hm... actually I can get one whole giant sheet of vinyl if anyone is interested...

 

Vinyls come in different qualities... just like any product we buy. Can you guarantee that once it's put on it sticks good, and once taken off... it won't leave much glue on the surface?

 

Actually they all would leave some sort of residue, but nothing a little GooGone can't fix. I will probably report back this weekend for some results and pictures.

 

This might be a noob question but is it an easy process to apply the vinyl? I thought I remembered seeing a former posting that BB has a North East Installer, does anyone know who that might be? I'm in the jersey/NY area.

LOL yeah it's been irritating to try to get them 2 in the same place at the same time. Hopefully it'll be done soon... realllyyyyy soon. We'll probably have a local meet this thursday in San Diego... and I hope to God that skyview guy shows up so Andy can make the template for the skyview.
