I have betrayed you all

Well I've been looking for a new daily driver for the last 2 weeks and today put down a deposit on this

For the size and price I can't be beat. got it for $14,900 cad

07 G6 SE1 v6 (3.5L)
20k miles
4yrs, 2 mo fact. warranty left

over all a really nice driving car, especially for a GM. I looking into 07 and 08 altimas and I could have leased one for the same monthly or less, but I'd rather own. 4cyl 07 altimas run about $20K and a new 08 is $25k here in canada

thoughs and flames away

I'm sure these are different than the previous year...but on the interior quality and meh

GM ftl unless it's equipped with a LSx, then that at least makes up for everything else!

.02

Hope that doesn't effect the products you ship to me in the future!

^^^ Further proving the "Chieftain" made in the 1950's. Enjoy what you bought, I can understand your point with the finances and all. But I think we all can agree...there is a reason they are less expensive then their Nissan, let alone Japanese competition. I think you know as well. But I hope it treats you well nevertheless, and as long as you like it, that's all that matters really.

yes yes I know about the resale, why do you think I got an 07 and not an 08! This same car new $28K! list price was $18 on it but I knew the manager. He showed me the data base and gave it to me for an extra $500 under thier minimum selling price.

But in all honesty it's not a bad car. I come from a family that drives only domestics and I know the crap that he older GMs are, even thier upper lines. But 100% Gods honest truth this car runs and handles much more like a european car than other domestics. It's better than the new "step up" grand prix by far. and the interior is vynil not gm's typical plastic. All in all I still think it was the right decision. for the price, size and everyhting concidered, the price can't be beat the only other cars in the same segment and size were: sebring (not a chance), fusion ( nope), hyundai.......(hahaha), mazda6 came close but it would have had to be a 04 or 05, and accord and altima would have been 03-04. All good choices but I also wanted a warranty and we all know nissans recent history with transmissions and engines............

My transmission feels like a CVT at 73K miles. I try and find hard shifts but it just upshifts like a dream.

Sorry to hear about your financial difficulties. If you don't mind been stranded on the road in the middle of nowhere with a crying baby on the back seat, and a screaming spouse on the front seat, this is the car for you. Push rods anyone. Air bags? No, get xtra life insurance. And get a fire extinguisher.

lol I never said that, what I was implying is that with the nissan I'd only have 1years warranty left where right now I have almost 5. thats all. so far after 3 years of existance the G6 still has no recalls or major service bulletins. don't worry once we're set up more here in BC we'll be getting the 2nd car and it will be more inline with racingline's products. (we sold both our cars before we moved here because nobody here would buy a rusted ontario car)

I've actually been eying a R32 GTS-T cause they are cheap and 100% legal here

Bro thats a step up from your last car. And I'm sure it will be a nice car for the wife to trot the kids around in.

All the best in school, and props to you for getting HER a nice car, supporting two kids and a wife and going to school at the same time.

To anyone that has a problem with that cause they .

My next car is either a Pontiac G8 or Cadillac CTS.

I have nothing against pontiac. I do however hate GM. lol

Growing up my mom always had a new Chevy/GM truck... She went thru atleast 6 vehicles in 4 years that were all damn near lemon status. Every GM she bought was a pos. The Dealership she went thru bought back 2 of the 6 cars they sold her...

That is why I would never buy a GM. Then again... Im not so sure about my Maxima either... I love the looks and styling, but the quality on my 2004 is ****.

The interior volume of the G6 is 96.1. The interior volume of the Maxima is 103.6. Seven and a half cubic feet is quite a lot. It also makes the difference between the G6 being classified as a sub-compact and the Maxima being classified as compact according to the EPA (although I don't think that either car is really compact).

http://www.fueleconomy.gov/feg/info.shtml#sizeclasses

In addition, the rear leg room of the Maxima is 43.9 inches.

http://www.motortrend.com/cars/2006/...pecifications/

The rear leg room of the G6 is 42.2 iinches.

http://www.motortrend.com/cars/2006/...pecifications/

When I get into a car and I can touch the passenger side door while sitting in the driver's seat without leaning over, or reach and touch the back seat, the car is too small for me because I am 6'2" tall. In the G6, I was able to do both. In the Maxima, neither. And yes, I do factor in seat travel.

This is not meant to dis the G6, but the Maxima is just a larger car in all dimensions. Especially the engine!!!!!

actually you quoted front leg room

---------- -------- ------ Altima ----- G6----- Maxima SE

Front Legroom (in.) --------- 42.2 ----- 42.2 -----43.9
Rear Legroom (in.) ----------- 39.5 ----- 37.6 ----- 36.5

rear leg room in the G6 is 37.6 inches to the max's 36.5. front doesn't matter as the g6 has power pedals rear matters more since I have 2 kids that like to kick the seat backs

But your right the overall volume of the Max is larger, as it should since it's a different segment car. I didn't even think twice about the max though as I didn't want to spend more than $20k. thats why I listed altimas as my other concideration in my first post. and dollar for dollar the G6 is newer and larger that the altima.

Really the only thing the max has over the G6 is a PRACTICAL sense is it's wider, as interior volume is subjective in some respects. 1 inch more width + 1 inch head room, + 1 inch overall length can easily top 6 cubic feet. The shape of a cars roof alone can change volume by 2cubes. Remember total volume only means if your filled the car with water.

When they first came out I sat in one at the dealer. My friend is a salesman at a Pontiac dealer. The fit and finish was not bad. I'm waiting for the G8. That's going to be a lot of fun.
