UDP damage...

So I received the UDP from CosmoRacing today only to find out that it's "damaged."

There are 3 little slits in one of the edges and that doesn't seem to me like it's supposed to be there. I already e-mailed CosmoRacing, but wanted to hear what my fellow orgers have to say.

thanks,
dan

"Hello Daniel,

Thanks for your email and photos. The 3 marks on pulley are the pulley timing marks and it can be used to tune and adjust the engine timing. Please no worry it will not damage your belts.

We value your business. If you have any questions or concerns, please be sure to let us know.

Thanks,
Paul"

e-mailed them back and waiting on response...at least they responded when they "opened" today, so that's a good sign!

"Hello,

All the pulleys we have on hand are with TIMING MARKS as you have. I am sure the other owners must have not ordered the pulley from us; or must be misunderstanding. We do not have other pulley without marks. You will need the timing marks the same as stock pulley in order to set the timing. I have attached some photos to show you all other pulley we have with marks. Hope it helps.

We value your business. If you have any questions or concerns, please be sure to let us know.

Thanks,
Paul"

And he did provide pictures with 2 more pulleys having the same thing...am I retarded or since the thing is circular and "symmetrical," it shouldn't have some bull**** "timing marks" on them...?

discuss because now I feel like a retard...

Someone correct me if I'm wrong but, I believe without marks on the UDP, you would have to take the head off to know "Top Dead Center" when you replace the timing belt.

Keep in mind the UDP only goes on one way due to the "notch" even though it's circular.
