Any One tired??

I have an app at a local exhaust shop to have a cat back made. I know that the best size is 2 -1/2 to 2 at the mufflers has anyone tried to due a dual system for the front y pipe back, possable 2 inch all the way to the mufflers. I know room it tight but. still think its possiable?? Pros and cons. Thank you in advance.

Any thing's possible, but if I was looking for power gains, I would go w/ headers, not a cat back.

I'm accually just looking for some more sound but can't change the mufflers wife would notice. Also just a little power gain is always good. But I do plan on getting headers when the release

If you want alittle more sound keep the mufflers and take out the resonator. Think the only way you"ll see gains is with a y pipe or headers. Also think you"ll pay alot to have something fabbed up for the amount of gain you will get.

Funny I accualy removed the resonator already and sound did not change that much very liitle change in sound. Also Y pipe's is CE any good or should I wait for Cattmans header and y pipe combo? The ce is used for short money.

The CE pipe is better than stock but nothing compares to Cattmans quality and performance. You could do a true dual but he cost and weight are up there. Also, without headers a TD will not be utilized to potential. The only thing you can do for more sound is to replace the mufflers if you already took out the resonator. Just cut the stock tips off and weld them on to the new ones if you need that stock look.

I still LOL when I see people say they removed the stock resonator and didn't really notice a sound change.

How?

There's no way the stock mufflers are that restrictive.

Ask your wife straight up for mufflers, she might say no right now, but eventually they have to give in. As usual, make sure you give her nice stuff obviously.

I'm already dropping hints, I like the Magnaflow's 14815 & 14816. I don't think it will happen until mid year or year end, but this way you get what you want

Oh, and yes, patience pays.

I would laugh also if it was not me. The sound changed barly the only way I notice is if I really listen for it. IF you have not experienced it first hand you really cant say. The resonator is restrictive but the mufflers kill sound also. I wish it had changed it enough were I was not looking to replace other things to get some sound out of the VQ, with out replacing the mufflers. Trust me I will try again to get our camera and take a audio clip this Saturday and you can see thee is minimal change in sound.

If I could spend 300$ shipped on the gready I would. All the used ones I've seen( All two of them) were 500$ +. Also the shop is only charging 200$ to make the system.

I will have a pair of magnaflow 14862 for sale soon and they are barely used. i know you dont want your wife to notice, but it does keep the stock look and really shows off your ride. If you dont want your wife to notice, you probably dont want to change the sound...but I promise that these will. PM if interested.

you will be disappointed on the dyno without headers. If you are doing custom stainless steel exhaust, expect to pay at least $1100
By the way, who in the hell is selling an sp2 for $300?

The custom work will cost way less than that I was speaking to the shop last week and they talked about aluminized system, ( Yes my flame suit is on) and they warrenty all thier work for 2 years. I have had these systems on my older cars years ago( full out race Monte carlo SS, 70 Camaro and 70 Cougar convertable),So I know they can last if you take car of them. In the winter I wash the car twicw a week sometimes to keep the salt away and always wash under the car( spray hose of course) If I go aluminized it will cost a 3rd of that maybe less if I can talk them down. Unless this magical 300$ SP2 system shows up.. LOL
