Bout to Hit 40k....what do i need to do at 40k ??

hey guys. any help id really appreciate it !!!

ok...i have 38,700 miles on my car and i am about to hit 40k.

what kinds of things do i need to do to the maxima ??

I have a 04 SE

i change the oil in my car every 2,500 miles

i have a k&n air filter that i clean about once every 4-5 months.

and i have taken it to sears auto center to get a new cv boot(ripped and had to be replaced) and while that was getting done i also got a system coolant flush

i talked to my cousin and he told me to get
brake flush......(do u guys recommend dot 3 or 4?????????)
power steering fluid

he told me to get a full service on my trany

and get oem spark plugs

i bought the car with 28,000 miles on it...

now i have about 500 dollars i want to put into the car...brake fluid, powersteering fluid and spark plugs i know will cost me peanuts...

is there anything anyone recommends to do ??????

any info would be appreciated thanks

I just looked at the service manual and it has a whole list but nothing major at set intervals. Just inspect and replace if necessary. 60k replace radiator fluid, 105k spark plugs. In cabin air filter every 15k. Everything is different for each car by conditions. Guess thats why it just says inspect and change as necessary.

You change your oil every 2,500 miles? I sure hope you aren't running synthetic. And if you are, please wait every 5k miles and paypal me the $30 you don't spend on oil+filter in between changes.

I mean whatev, its your ride. I have been told by a few techs exactly what I have told you. My car has been 100 percent Nissan to me for 80K, not a single hiccup. If it makes you feel better to spend all that money......

I haven't changed it in my 04 yet, but on my 00 (and every other car I've touched) its really easy. Just disconnect the tube on the PCV valve, pull the valve out, put the new valve in, and reconnect the tube.

Hardest part is remembering where the damn thing is. I'd have to look at my service manual every time because I have the attention span of a fish.

Call Dave Burnette at Southpoint Nissan, he gave me the best prices on parts for both of my Maximas. His number is 888 254-6060.
