Official Maxima refreshment program, proto phase

Ok guys as some of you might know, my car is at the shop getting a new front bumper, new rear bumper, and cf vented hood done, which of course will get mass produced (or at least 10 sets of bumpers and 15 hoods at first,)

well during the prototyping process I will be getting pictures of the progress to make small adjustments, (that wont be for at least another week 1/2,)

Right now I need opinions on the rear bumper, what type of opening should we go with,?

this is the front

and the hood,

Are you also making the sides in that pic of the front bumper? The sides flow with the design. The bottom of the front bumper could be raised some more; it looks like it will be scarping the ground in that pic, especially on a mildly lowered max. It's a hard decision, but I'll go with flat.

EXCELLENT WORK! Can't really make out either Slanted or Flat on the rear bumper, but I think either one would look awesome. I agree with athlon omega regarding the front bumper. Look forward to seeing finished products and possibly getting on for the shipping list to receive.

thanks guys, we are going with the flat one on the rear bumper, and I also added a little more detail to it so it will flow with the front bumper,

The sides unfortunately I'm not making (for now) for now the full ZK kit (thats what I named it ) will come with vip side skirts, and of course there will be some discounts, and also there will be a lot of savings on shipping charges if you the 2 or more of any of this products.

I agree with flat. The lines of the Maxima differ from the GTR, so flat flows better. Good choice. Look forward to finished product

I like the bumper but its to low for my streets. On the rear bumper, is it the whole bumper on just the bottom?

good question...it looks like it might just attach at the bottom of the existing rear, which is fine with me.

MAX2DAMAX- Glad to see you're going w/the VIP side skirts; I was planning on getting those installed this summer. Now, I'll just order the whole kit when you're ready. Also, nice work man...I was already stoked about the CF vented hood (which I voted for) but I really like the rear bumper too...can't wait to see your finished product!

I can't tell the difference between the slanted and flat. The hood is going to look nice. That front bumper will be too low for me as well.

that low effect is just for show right now, kind of like when you see sketches of concept cars.

Also the rear is going to be a whole new bumper, mainly because the difference in price was minimal, and also going to a full rear bumper gave us the chance of making the rear just a little bit more skinny, also weight savings, this bumpers are extremely light

+1 on the comments of the front bumper being low but other than that is it coming together nicely.

Since this is going to be a full rear bumper replacement, will you have the holes already cut out for the back up sensors that follow from side to side on the factory bumper?

I doubt this, because this kit is basically being made for the people with 04-06..07-08's were the only ones with rear sensors..Man someone needs to make a lip for the 07 maxima, that thing begs for one.

those holes should be really easy to replicate by the owners, I'm sure the sensors are snap on, correct me if I'm wrong

-right now is going to be made from duraflex, (best of both worlds, light and flexible)

-kc... lets hope not.

it is, but is not rigid, different resins are used giving it flexibility, here is a pic, this kits are also much cleaner on the edges than a regular fiber glass kit, they look like urethane kits but they are not as heavy.

Yeah the NY roads are horrible. I do agree with the slant look though. The front bumper will look amazing!! What is an estimated date of the full completed prototype?

guesstimates go as fallow, front bumper 350+tax, plus shipping (depends on location), rear bumper same price as front, shipping same, if you get both shipping will only increase about 20 bucks, hood, first 10 will be 599 + tax, plus shipping, the other 5 will go for 650+ tax +shipping, (still below carbon creations msrp), remember if you live outside of CA, there is no tax, and if you live in or near orange or LA counties we can arrange for a local pick up.

So the rear is in fact a bumper? From the photoshops, it looked like a lip kit similar to the Stillen style.

dude im laughing my ace off, thankfully santa was not delivering this items, all 3 molds should be done in about week and half which puts them at about 3 1/2 weeks that is only 3 more days than the estimate, after they are done they will be shipped out by sea (about a months worth), to somewhere in Asia land It'll take them another month 1/2 to 2 months to complete the bumpers and the hoods, finally another trip back and we should be getting these sometime around late May or June perfect for when people start getting their stimulus checks
