About to install my avic z1 and was wondering where everyone was installing their antenna. Can you post some pictures or give me some ideas of where to put it thanks.

 

You don't have to put it on top your dash or outside of your car. I have mine mounted under my dash, right behind where the orange information screen is located. I put it as far back as I could so it still gets a clear view of the sky through the dashboard plastic. Works great no issues.
