"NO SAT" message - Sirius Radio
"NO SAT" message - Sirius Radio
I have factory installed Sirius Satellite Radio.
Driving to work this morning, wanted to listen to one of my Sirius Sat Radio presets - when I press a satellite programmed preset or I press the SAT button I get the message "NO SAT". I just checked with Sirius and I am not past my bill due time.
Did my receiver or antenna just die on me?

Are you located in a cold climate? If so then electrical issues are very common.
Once you get the car warmed up and drive for a little bit, it *should* work again. My sister's car has the same issues with dashboard lights, and my car has issues with the CD player not "reading" the disc.
OR, just lightly tap the area for a better connection (the Polski way to do things
)

This 04 Max has been in the Wash DC area for the last 4 years. It is the first time I have this problem, and this morning it wasn't way as cold as it had been many times before - it was 36F. My commute lasts 45 minutes, my car was plenty warm when I got to work. I restarted my car after I parked (I have had issues before that were gone after a "reset"), but it's a persitent "NO SAT".

I probably have to take it in; I found this Nissan Satellite Radio Service Bulletin:

I think my receiver died according to the diagnostics flow chart.

)I live in Silver Spring, MD and lately my Sirius has been displaying "NO SIGNAL". It's frustrating. The only time I've received the message "NO SAT" is when I didn't have the service.
You need to unclip the upper half of your trunk area where the back speakers rest. You should see the Sirius unit in between your sub and speaker. (Pry the clips carefully b/c they will break if forced out). Check the connections to the unit.
I think the Sirius signal must have a low jamming margin; It's probably easily wiped out by other "who knows what" more powerful transmitters. Maybe the Discovery Channel in Silver Spring broadcasting their stuff
If you look at the link I gave earlier in this thread; it is a Satellite Radio Diagnostic Service Bulletin. "NO SAT" is - from what I understand - only when you your entertainment system doesn't "see" the satellite receiver. But I could be wrong.
I am thinking; either my receiver unit has died, or some cable to/from the unit (either power or signal) is broken. I have a persitent "NO SAT"
If you have "NO SAT" intermittently, it could very well be that you have a bad connection of one of the unit cables

Since i'm new it wont let me start a new thread - but this was the most 'active' sirius radio thread so i'm going to hijack it... sorry
just bought an 05 nissan maxima to replace my totaled scion tc. i had Sirius as a factory installed option on the 07 scion (yeah i know i upgraded alot here...) - there was no outside controller for the scion, just had an antennae in the windshield. i know little/nothing about the maxima and its compatibility with sirius and what comes 'prewired'... it has a SAT button on the dash, but what else do i need now to get it up and running?
