painting the stock grill

i used the search engine but i still couldn't find a good thread on how to do it. any1 mind givin me steps on how to paint my stock grill to match my onyx black max. thnx in advance

first sand with 320 grit not to hard just scuff it up. 2nd buy primer grey or blk from autozone, prime the grill them wetsand prime again and wetsand to make sure its smooth. You can have either a body shop make you some paint to match car, or use high gloss engine enamle. spray a coat then wetsand spay coat wetsand you get the idea. Last step buy a can of clear coat I put like 3 light coats on mine and it turned out great.

I've been thinking of going this route as well since almost all the aftermarket grills are ugly. The only decent one is from Active Tuning and even then it looks like the fitment is off.

Are there pictures of painted grills anywhere?

My plan is to remove the silver Nissan emblem, take the grill to a bodyshop and have them prep it and color match the whole grill then put the Nissan emblem back on. It should look clean and lot better than the factory chromish look.
