$850 for motor mounts? help from nissan techs appricaited

i officially will start calling the dealership..stealership from now on. i go get my oil change and tell them about the squeking noise i hear when i go over bumps and make turns sometimes again and tell them a lot of ppl from max.org and 6thgenmax.org complain about it also and some say its the motor mount. so they did the oil change and looked at the motor mount and the guy tells me theres a problem with them and its goin to cost $850 bucks!!! he said he can help out by makin it $750 instead. im so ticked off cause i complained forever bout it and they find the problem now that im over my warrenty 36k, 52129k. guy looked up my prior history and even though i complained bout it he said theres nothing there that resembles me complain bout the squeakin noise. is there any help any1 can give. ahh im ticked off

If you have your prior paper work and it states the same concern from before when you were in warrenty and it says no condtion found and now your are out and the problem is mysterisaly there now. Then you have a case with either the sevice manager or Nissan USA.

If he doesn't even want to change his own oil, then what makes you think he'd want to do MMI?

jkjkjk I'm sure the weather is having part in that...

if he's still covered by his powertrain warranty then i beleive the mounts are covered by that 5/60. If i'm not mistaken i beleive i read it in my owners manual, but i have an 05 even if you maybe 04 you said you have 52k so check another dealer or read up your owner's manual warranty suppliment.

wait. how will MMI help if the motor mounts are blown? if you install the racingline motor mount inserts on blown mounts, will the inserts just break after a while?

Typically a blown mount refers to the insert inside the housing. It's very rare a mount 'housing' will 'blow'.

you can check the way i know which is have someone stand infront of the car with the hood open and power brake the car "that's hold the brake down and give the car gas with in in drive "and if the engine is lifting from the front excessevly then your front mounts are gone and do the same with the car in reverse and if the back of the engine lifts then your rear mounts are bad. You can put your car on a lift and see if you have oil at the bottom and if you do then you can trace it and see if it's comming from the mounts. Back in december when my front mount went i was on the pkwy and i steped on the gas and i felt the car give a big jerk but i did not pay any mind to it and the next morning when i got to work i decided to look under the hood and i saw a lot of oil to the front of the engine under the dipstick area so i called up my dealer and ask them if i can bring it in and later in the day they told me it was a front motor mount. Did not even have 25k on my car as yet. You have to remember i think we have 2 hydraullic mounts whick are oil filled and i think 2 regular mounts. Give it a shot and see.

Remove engine from mounts --> inspect. That's how you find out for sure.

ONLY A MORON WOULD STAND IN FRONT OF A CAR THAT IS POWERBRAKING. HAVE THEM STAND TO SIDE.

I never said they weren't, you ask me if your mounts are busted, , I was throwing a wild guess across the country without any pictures. As far as the WOT self learn stuff, your cars have it, mine does not.

Not really. Our (speaking from a 5th gen POV) cars aren't smart enough to have it. Your WB's > Our NB's

i just found out today from my dealership that my front motor mount is cracked.

I was hearing a rough idle and the car was shaking during idle/stop phases.

They said i need to get it replaced and it would cost 290.00 to replace the front MMI.

I never heard no squeaking during bump or turns. So you may want to get a 2nd opinion and price check.

Im from AZ and if you go to abcnissan.com, you will find the service phone number. Call them and ask them how much to replace the front MMI.

total with part, labor, shop fee and tax = $305.00 but they are willing to lower the price to $290.00
