New Maxima owner - Weird noise when spinning in snow & on ice (VDC related?)
Hello everyone,
I've been the only owner of a Black 2004 Maxima SE for about a week now and have been hearing an odd noise from the engine bay area.
First off, I live Canada with lots of snow & slippery roads. My Maxima also has VDC (Vehicle Dynamic Control) which I always have active.
When I accelerate quicker than normal in snow or on an icy road my "SLIP" light comes on (Which is normal) but when it does that the car kinda slows down and there is like this clicking/snapping sound coming from under the hood and I can feel some vibrations in my pedal.
In my manual it says that some noise & vibration is normal when VDC activates. I'm wondering if anyone else has had this sound happen to them, if it's due to the VDC or if it could be anything else?
The weird thing is, even if I turn off my VDC, the slip still engages when accelerating hard and the noise happens.
Any help would be awesome. Thanks!

What your experiencing is normal, the traction control is doing exactly what it is suppose to. The pedal jerk is the abs kicking in slowing down the wheel and vehicle itself to get better traction, thus saving the car/you from going out of control causing an accident.
I apologize that my grammar error caused you so much anger & rage. Try not taking the internet so seriously.
Thanks to everyone for the helpful replies. I really appreciate it. Now I have to deal with my next issue, the front passenger strut clunk...which is a common issue.
I think i'll have to throw a new suspension setup on her.
