Nismo Thermostat 350Z/G35 on Maxima
Nismo Thermostat 350Z/G35 on Maxima
Anyone here running a Nismo Thermostat from the 350z/G35 on their Maxima?
I took my car out last night with some friends and raced a few cars down here in Houston. My car was running hot after a few runs and stayed that way for atleast 8 mins after I parked it and let it idle and turned the car off. The radiator fan is working fine, no coolant leaking, so I dont think the stock thermostat is doing its job letting it run cooler. Anyone have overheating issues with their max's after a few good runs?
Here's some thread from nissanclub of a altima vq owner running the nismo 350Z thermostat and he ran into some issues afterwards with it not working correctly.

NISMO will be too cold and may not let the car warm up to operating temperatures or you will have to run it hard before it does=bad for motor
Get the 350z OEM t-stat which is 10 degrees cooler than the 6th gens.
Some modification is required, but nothing major

back in the day when i had my boosted civic. i did a 40/60 mix plus one bottle of water wetter. along with a dual core radiator. even with the hot tx weather, my car never overheated and stayed reatively cool.
