Dyno Results!!

Well I finally got the Max on a Dyno today thanks to Speedworld in Baldwin New York, and results were fairly decent. Here is the list of mods I have in conjunction w/ results:

AEM CAI, Cattman Y-Pipe, Greddy SP II, Kinetix, NWP Spacers, & UDP

Big thanks to Aaron at NWP for the talk about what to expect.

I got 3 Pulls done and unfortunately I dont have a scanner because I am too lazy. But I will scan once I get back to work and post the actual print out. Humidity was at 69% average for each run and temp average was 58 degrees.

1st Run: Max Power: 236.59 Max TQ: 254.06
2nd Run: Max Power: 246.32 Max TQ: 265.25
3rd Run: Max Power: 238.37 Max TQ: 229.48

Are the numbers fairly good guys?

Hope you guys enjoy the video and pics below.

i am guessing about 300 at the crank.
calculated using 25% power loss...

also, i THINK you would have a few extra horses at the wheel if u had a lighter rims on

LW wheels will help. Also, to the OP, I'm guessing your tq #'s are spikes, because that is just too much of a contrast. Correction factor takes into account atmospheric conditions and is corrected as so. Since it was 58 degrees out, I'm guessing your corrected values a re a bit lower.

Stock is 200 or 205whp, don't remember which one.

...hmmm I should be in for a great treat then considering that I dynoed 225whp (give or take; I did it a long time ago) with only Fujita and TS

Thats awesome!!

Yeah those rims are super heavy and I really want to get light weight racing ones in chrome but you cant beat $900 for a set of 20's. lol

If I am doing the math right... 246.32 x .25 gave me 61.58 so I added that to the 246.32... so I think I am around 307HP now. But I suck at math...

That is quite impressive with those bolt ons and no change in headers or AFR. not to burst your bubble, but when was the last time his dyno was calibrated?

Dyno's don't need to be 'calibrated', it's the atmospheric conditions which 'calibrate' them.

2nd higher because let off gas lower/higher RPM?

3rd lower because of engine heat and not long enough cool down between runs

Very nice sound (Video) and great numbers too! Quick question though....Did you have to add a computer or did you reprogram your ECU after the Y-pipe? ....As changing this usually means you are running lean....

No track out there anywhere Bummer, you ought to poke around see if you can find one that's not to far away and get it out there. You would have a blast. You have some nice mods, it's a shame not to test them out on the track. BTW, I run mine just the way you see, chrome wheels and all. Do they make lightweight chrome wheels?

Drivetrain loss on a 2WD car is typically 15-17%. You've got about 285HP at the crank, and 310lbs of TQ.

True, I normally factor in 15-20% loss for an Auto max...

Don't know about the newer 5spd autos but the older 4spd units lose about 22-23% from my experience...

Different cars respond to mods differently than others.

Absolutely, but in my opinion, unless you plan of driving above 145mph+ (removes speed limiter), you can achieve better performance gains with an APEXi piggy back computer and every time you add a mod you have the capability to dyno tune it correctly to work with everything else.

True...BUT, why not just go with UTEC that can do everything the TS does except for adjusting the maps?

I haven't read any detailed info on anyone who's installed a UTEC on a 6th Gen Maxima other than they have been known to fry our coil packs. So may work great but I don't have any expertise working with to make an educated choice. They also tend to lean more toward the pricey side...

nietsche (spelling)

He is the only 6th genner with a UTEC and he has only positive results from it...so

I think you are thinking of the Emanage Ultimate that is frying coil-packs, NOT the UTEC.

Can get one used for $600 on www.my350z.com

Once I have enough mods to knock off my AFR , then I will most likely get a UTEC and post much more about it. Osiris and Cobb seem to not care about the Maximas and a reflash by TS seems to be the easy way, but I'd like to experiment with the UTEC.
