Pulled the trigger!
Pulled the trigger!
I've owned 3 Maximas in the past: '93 SE black w/ tan leather, '93 GXE Grey w/ grey cloth, '99 SE Limited dark green w/ tan leather. All have been exceptional cars with great quality. 1st Max met its demise with only 101K miles after striking a semi - no injuries. 2nd was bought with 70K miles for $7.7K, then sold with 175K for $2.2K. Then, the last was bought with 40K and sold with 166K. I enjoyed each car, but liked the 93 SE the best.
Now that I'm not 18 and single anymore, my tastes and needs in cars has changed drastically. No longer am I the primary driver of the Maxima, I drive the mighty Titan (www.titantalk.com). We needed a car with enough room in the rear seat for 2 car seats + an adult. The wife's '99 was big time cramped with the 1 car seat, so it would be impossible to sit back there with 2 car seats. Space was needed!
We searched a bit and ended up back at the Nissan dealer to buy a new loaded (except Navi) Maxima SL. Got the Somoma Red with Cafe Latte (read "tan") leather. What a helluva nice car! As a teen, I worked for car dealers and I've driven a LOT of cars. I've never driven a car as smooth as this thing is on the interstate! We drove 4 hours in it the other week and I loved it!
We test drove the 1st model year 6th gen when it first came out. We were looking at it, but I instead bought my truck b/c I couldn't stand the sight of the dash! After the car got it's remake in FY07, it's now quite an attractive car. I can't believe these aren't selling better. All I can say is that more advertising is needed to show the interior has been redone.

I wanted the white, but the stealer negotiated a better price on the red one. I made him put pin stripes and a spoiler on it. In the end, I'm glad we bought the red one.
I've been a member of this forum since '99 when I got my 1st Maxima. It's crazy to see how how much things have changed! I only came on here typically when something was wrong and I needed to diagnose or learn how to fix it myself. This isn't my original name, can't rember the one I started with.
