Tein Suspension Work

Hey guys,

Looking to do some suspension work as the gap in my front wheel well looks extremly ugly, Now just a few questions. Ive heard alot about the progress and ebachi springs but not much about the tien springs, also looking at the tien coilovers a local shop which is Tein authorized can do the coilovers with pillowball and edfc unit installed for about 2100. now im not really a suspension guru but I wanted to know since my suspension doesn't need replacing yet does it make sense to drop it in the mean time and then do coilovers later because very few 6th gens are on coilovers and even fewer on tein. thanks in advance

Please don't get those then if you think you'd be upgrading for "no apparent reason"

Yes Prjctmax is right. you answered your own question. there is no need for EDFC especially for $2100. You want lower, get LOWERING springs

I've been wondering the same thing, I see people talking about the Progress, Koni, and Magean Coilovers, but nobody really mentions anything about the Tein Basic Coilover.

I was thinking of going with just the Eibach Lowering Springs but after talking to others about lowering of a car and handling not to mention (the body lean of the Maxima in cornering whether its at high speed or low speed).

This is mainly what was given as OPINIONS:
A: you can go with lowering springs they will do what you want, but in about a year or so and depending on the roads where you live you will eventually have to replace the shocks. Lowering springs SOMETIMES can do damage to the shocks.

B: coilovers will allow you to adjust to the ride height you like. people say "coilovers give you a bumpy ride." you then again have to ability to have a soft ride almost close to the OEM Setup or a more sport ride where when u go over dips, humps, holes, your car will not have that spring feeling. what you are getting is more direct response to the road.

I will be installing my coilovers on friday. I might be new to Maxima.org but I have plenty of experience with other vehicles. Look me up on RSX Forums D'Mac Enterprise.

I have the Tein SS on my car and love them . I have the edfc but it is still in the box to be installed. 2100 is pretty steep for everything. What about just buying the Kit and do it yourself. It is not that hard to swap them bad boys out. Also I think the edfc is somewhat of a waste if your not constantly trying to change your settings. Iguess if you are to lazy to pop your hood and change the settings then it will work out fine. I just dont think it is worth 350 for that !

PM when you get them installed, I will like to see pictures of them and also see what you think!

Get tein basic coilovers. Its alot of bang for your buck. I just put them in my 05, and they were 950 installed. I got my car slammed on them, and didnt sacrifice all of the ride.

The SS coils have damping adjust and the basics do not. they are the same coils the damping adjust is the only difference.

you dont really need dampening unless you are tracking the car. the ride is pretty close to stock. of course you can tell its lowered but not that much.

I first went with Eibach but I still hated the gap left in the front. I'm on K-Sports now and the ride is bumpy but I love my 4DGK (4 door go kart)
