Try search and you'll find many threads on this topic. I gave up on tint due to constant cop problems with it and went with an overlay that is legal and great looking.

Film tint would be your best bet because it gives a more glossy shine rather than dull uneven spray tint.

Just curious Deus... do you see yourself losing that spoiler and taillight tint in the near future?

And to Fastmax... what % are your windows and tails?

I have overlays for now, but there's a shop I do business with that does spray tint that comes out mint, alot of people I have seen do it just spray tint it and leave it at that, they spray it, clear it, wet-sand and buff it. Comes out flawless, but $100 a set. Eventually, just not yet, see how the police react to the overlays first

Long Island, New York. Tint film was put on 3/27/06, it will be 2 years old next week, I don't see any wear or damage, looks like the day it was done. This car is outside 24/7/365

Regular window tint will NOT work.

You need the smoked vinyl.

You may get it to stick but it wont last long. The glue is made to adhear to glass.

Any tint shop should know that...

Ive used the spray before and it is very easy to use and it lasts long if you use it on the inside of the lights versus the outside. I have also painted the outside of my lights before, which in the long run I wouldnt suggest haha. Also with the spray its easy to get out if you just let it soak in alcohol for a couple days then shake it up with salt in it; in case you gotta take it off for inspection/cops.

OK, I drive an 06, so maybe the 07 is different...but, I had the same question for the dealer when I bought mine. Dealer said that is the most common question coming from previous GM owners who are all used to this feature. Bottom line, unless this changed for 07, you can't program the locks to lock automatically. You actually have to hit the switch.

I recently purchased the smoked vinyl from a NY tint shop on ebay. Very easy to install. Less than 5 min per tail light. For me personally, I thought the tint was too dark for my silver Max and decided to remove it. On the positive, it was fast and easy to remove. Might try spray next time.

It actually is not smoked vinyl. Vinyl is only 1mil thick. You need smoked protection film thats 8-15mil thick. I did my tail lights with 15mil thick smoked tail light film from ABD Graphix.

Ill post some pictures when i get a chance.

here's where i bought the stuff
ABD GRAPHIX smoked tail light film
