Review of used sixth gens - Maxima.org mentioned!

Hey everyone,

I regularly read this internet magazine called Canadian Driver. They came out with a used car review for the sixth gen Maxima.

http://www.canadiandriver.com/articl...4-07maxima.htm

The .org has been mentioned. What do you think of the review? Personally, I don't own a sixth gen, but I'm curious if the reviewers experience meshes with your own?

That's actually pretty good publicity for the .Org and the other sites listed. Pretty refreshing that a magazine would do that. From the surface, at least.

Just browsed quickly. Never heard of people locking themselves out. Ive left my keys in the car before and it made a beep letting me know the keys were inside.

I have. The doors lock automatically under certain circumstances.

I'm so paranoid about locking myself out of the car that I always leave a window down when I get out to do something such as check the mail.

Only way to lock yourself out is if your personal settings are set like that...

+1 Deus. It does seem the car will lock itself up whenever it chooses to.....

Interesting read, love how the 04 gets the bad rap but I've heard Nissan referred to as hit or miss

My car has automatically locked the doors, and my settings are not set for that. It's a documented problem on some early 04's. I don't know about the other years.

I think only the 04 models have this problem but my drivers side door lock will toggle just enough to lock the door. This only happens when I shut the door. Never got it fixed.

Bingo you get the prize. That is exactly the problem but I don't know if it's only 04's. I have an 05 and it happened to me twice. Once I had the car running, jumped out to return a McDonalds DVD (5am) shut the door and what do ya know. Locked out. I keep a spare in my wallet just for that purpose, just a regular spare, it won't start the car but it will open the door

Something similar happened to me. Got out and left the car running, came back and the doors were locked and I was like wft!
So now I don't ever leave the keys inside unless the windows are down

I do that, cheap insurance if the doors lock for any reason, plus I locked myself out of my Pathfinder once and learned the hard way

Wish I had the vallet key but the dealer only gave me one key and remote with the Max. I was to cheap and only ordered one new remote from Ebay. I'll be ordering a new key from Ebay this summer.
