Car not starting

After driving in city traffic and turning the car off for a few minutes to run inside a store, I find when I come back the car cranking without starting. It takes 3 or 4 five second tries befoe it fires. Do I have a problem with fuel delivery?

I've had the same issue several times in the last few weeks. No SES light. Car was going into the dealer anyway - they said the issue was that the throttle body was heavily varnished and needed cleaning.

I would pull of the intake tube and check the throttle body plate, suggested above. If it's dirty and sticky just get some carb clean and spray it down. I clean mine every few months I usually have the car runing and give it some throttle at the same time, gets all the gunk of the plate and intake runners.

Yea it does, it cleans the inside of the intake manifold and TB if there is any dirt or carbon build up it will restrict air flow not a lot but it was cause you car to run slugish or poor gas mileage. The dealers always try to sell this service. I would never get it from them casus they want like 110$. When you can do it your self for 10$ can of carb cleaner. Also have you changed you plugs? How many miles on the car adn what type of gas do you use. These are soem of things that could cause your car to be acting up. But yes cleaning it does help.

Car Not Starting

Everytime I gas up and open the gas cap --> It takes about 10 good tries to get it started afterwards.. Any Ideas on that issue?

i have 06 with 30k. I also experiened turning the ignition and the engine sounds it started, but it died. But on the 2nd turn, it springs to life with no problems. Initially I thought it died on the first try becuase I did not do a full turn on the key. But yesterday, it happend again, i had to try the 2nd time then it started. Can this be my spark plugs failing? But my car has only 30k on it. Or are my injectors dirty?

There are no codes appearing.

Should I put in some fuel injector cleaner in? I read the manual, it is highly not recommended to put additive into the gas.

im going to venture a guess at the evap system....thats about all i can think of that is affected by opening the cap....it vents the in tank pressure, the evap system, and charcoal canister

No Codes at all. It also happens if I park on a hill. I paid for the extended warranty, so I will take it to the dealer this coming week. I will post the outcome..
