car misfired today! why?

I was driving and after about 5 mins or normal city driving..engine started to vibrate at idle and was dipping down like it was about to stall and was catching itself...was struggling to accelerate rapidly..than the SES light started flashing which mean a misfire hasoccured. about a minute later it stopped doing it and is fine now, my concern is im 250 miles from home now..i am leaving tomorrow for home and if anything happens on the way home..being that its sunday ill never find a place to fix it right away. never ever had this problem before. think itll be alright for the trip home? got 103K miles still never had a tune up..orig. spark plugs. (tune up to come soon) thanks

Maybe crappy gas...dirt in the gas tank......maybe check your air filter. Man, who knows. Good luck on your drive home.

so far, max got my back. drove the car around, actually had some real fun on twisty hilly back roads here in bridgewater, mass. ill be driving home today in less than an hour..car is running ok but i can feel the motor shimmy when acelerating hard..like vibrating but not harshly. i went and got the code read..for the ses light..even though no ses light is on now but it says camshaft position actuator..timing too advanced something like that..wtf does that mean i need a new camshaft position sensor? either this or my 2k2 had a recall on that..
