07 Rear Bumper on 04 Max....

I have an 04 Max and I bought an 07 Max Rear Bumper since I couldnt find a suitable 04 one. It has those holes ( I think it's for sonar) covering the entirety of it. I was just tryin to find out where I could get those little buttons at or what I could use to substitute for those buttons. I know there has to be something somewhere that I could use to cover them up. The 07 Bumpers are hott, but I hate those damn holes.

I hear toothpaste works wonders at patching holes.

Can you return the bumper? I got mine without sonar and it worked great.

Someone on the other .org found a way to cover the holes, search over there...

Why didnt you atleast get the 07 without the holes. I read about someone else that did this. You could always buy the sensors to plug the hole and not connect them.

LOL

The reverse sensors cost big $$'s.

Have a body shop fill and paint them.

I got my bumper without holes for $170. Take the hit, buy it without holes, and call it a day.

They are backup sensors, I got the wrong one originally and exchanged it for the correct one. I wouldn't patch them, it may look legit but you might have minor marks showing where the holes were. I asked my paint guy and he said just get the one without holes just to be safe (and save me the extra $$$ for the bodywork)

They make the car go dedededededede as you get closer to something backing up since we don't know how to adjust and use a mirror . That is the one option I really wish I didn't have.

Well they will let me return it since I told them it's still in packaging! *haha* but where do I get one without holes? That's too much for sonar though.

I got it at a dealer in Dayton, OH. I had to pick it up. I googled it and can't find the link anymore.

$350 to $500 to paint depending on how good of a shop you trust...

You can buy a universal back up sensor kit for under $50 off ebay. Have the shop paint them when they do the bumper. Wire it up discreetly, and now you have extra security when backing up from the audible sounds. I thought of buying the kit for when others move my car (long driveway, 4 cars).

Some places will sell them pre-painted on eBay. There is a good chance the paint will crack in shipping or install if you do it yourself.

is that OEM parts?

and deus i believe you take out the rear bumper after you take out the plastic trim on the trunk and the tail lights.
as for the sides, i believe you take out the trunk carpet and it should have 10mm bolts to it.

not sure but i do need a rear bumper painted.
and the 07 does look nice with the plastic diffuser lol
