Saved by Maxima.org - Clutch Problem

For the second time in the 5 years I've owned my Max, the clutch temporarily lost most of its pressure. Of course, I went to Maxima.org and of course found several threads detailing the problem. Armed with a printout of one of the threads, I took the car to the dealer.

Instead of sounding like a dumbass (gee, something happened with my clutch but it's OK now), I was able to show them that at least 10 other people had had the same problem and that it was most likely the clutch hydraulics. Although my car only has 38,000 miles on it, it's 2 weeks short of being 5 years old so I thought they might cover it under the 60 month powertrain warranty. The clutch master and slave cylinders, however, are covered by the regular 36 month warranty but they cut me some slack and offered to replace both for $220. I thought that was an OK deal and agreed. The work will be done next week when the parts come in.

I'm sure that were it not for this forum, they would have either said there was nothing wrong with my car or would have ripped me off for the repairs. Thanks Maxima.org.
