issue with the led tails

i love the new tails and i got them working fine till one of my friends noticed that my left tail light went off once i hit the brake while he was driving behind me. the lights work perfect till i hit the brake and the left side brake lights will go off completely and then go back to normal once i take my foot of the brake.

any ideas to what the problem could be? thnx in advance to any help

That isnt true. I have NO issues with mine. None of the guys had issues when we installed these. You just have to make sure the connections are solid and correct.

that happened to me on my first connection. i had the brake wire in the socket backwards.... the black wire wasnt matched up with black wire. the lights did work fine after that so there must be some transformer type that relays side to side to signal braking. just swap the connectors over i bet it will be fine.

Since they were made overseas, they may be wired for 220V...

I have the answer fellas. Apparently this is a problem with all of our cars. In my case anyway it was doing the same thing as bdmax's ....with the tailight plugged in but not bolted in..have someone brake while you have the taillight in your hand. Jiggle the black ground wire that goes into the FACTORY female plug. I GUARANTEE your light will start to go on and off. We have a weak ground connection. May need to splice the ground straight thru rather then use the plug n play option.

I had the very same issue with the left side brake light, like someone mentioned above you have to bypass the factory connector and wire the ground straight to the black on the lights. That's what i had to do and it's been working great since. No need to RMA. Just splice it in and try it to see, bet you will be good to go after that. Hope this helps

i dont believe it is the car's wiring.

The lights were working perfectly for a week. Then i started having problems with my right turn signal. Now Im having problems with my left brake light.

This is a problem with the LED lights. For me to cut my car's ground wire in order for a 3rd party LED light to work is ridiculous in my opinion.

If that is true, why doesnt this issue happed with the right brake light also? Only the left light???

I would expect for $350.00, these lights would work. But again, nothing is perfect...

When the 2nd set of lights arrive and have the same issue, i may start to think it is a wiring issue. And hopefully IPCW can correct the problem.

Ok I had the same problem with mine, all I did was take the female end take my finger nail and bend out ward the silver pieces of wire that are used to make the connection. From what I gather if that wire were just a bit thicker there would be no problem. My problem was when the head lights were on both light worked but when I hit the brakes only the right one worked. Took it apart and only touched that connection. It work but then I noticed on the way to work my left turn signal was super fast. So I looked and go figure it was not working. So I pulled it apart and did the same to that female plug. Hope this helps. I do love the way these lights look.
