Third Brake Light LED?

Has anyone tried putting a LED in the third brake light in the back? Just curious how it looks and white size of bulb(s) I would need. I'm trying to make 1 last order to get every last bulb changed over to LED...

I did, however since they face up on a mirror, it really doesnt show much of a difference, but I did it anyways as they were cheap T10 wedge 194 6 leds

I ordered some red 194 LEDs. We'll see how that goes.

I should have 100% LEDs in my Maxima by the end of the week I ordered every last one including the vanities.

Hilbe, you can also clear out the red reflector back there w/ the led's. Or, if your tints in the rear are dark you could take out the red reflector and just let the new leds shine through

I'm using some crappy 4leds back there temporarily.

I went ahead and did the third brake light with the ones I've got. For some reason I got a SMT Tower II red one and all the rest were SMT Towers. So I have 4 with 5 LEDs, and 1 in the middle with 9 LEDs. I am still waiting for a replacement from autolumination, I want them all to match.

Its already bright out, I'll try to remember to take a picture tonight when its darker.

I also went ahead and changed out the remainder of my interior bulbs with LEDs. I am 1 short for the glove box since I ended up doing the shifter. I will be ordering an additional one for the glove. Its funny how much nicer the vanities look with the 3 LED bulbs...

My next thing to do will be buy some clear door lenses...

I tried putting those 5 star LED's posted above into my I30's 3rd brake lamp(which is the same as the 6th gen's) and the output was horrible compared to the oem bulbs. Also bought some smt bulbs(see pic below) and got the same bad result. I wouldn't recommend any of those, but this is just my own opinion!!!

Hey Hilbe which bulb for the shifter? You just pop the cover off and the bulbs right underneath?

Heads up yall.. I got bored one day and decided to swap a led strip from a 02 impala third braklight into my I35 housing.. In short, the led strip fits like a glove underneath. The light did need some fish line to keep it mounted straight and level, but it looks much better than the seperate 194 led look and more like the M45's strip. If someone can find some M35 strips I bet the would color match better than my GM swap.

I will try to get some day/night shots soon.

Same as the above, just used super white 194. Its right under the shifter. Take the shift **** off, pop the cover, and twist out the bulb.
