what else to do?
what else to do?
So I took my car in finally to get some work done on the transmission and well 280 for parts and 370 for labor and 8 hours later no improvement. I have put every part from sonnax in the max besides the Main Boost Valve that takes boaring out the valve body. I had the car taken in for an electrical test and still nothing. I really don't understand what could be wrong. reading sonnax website I was allmost positive that these parts would fix the problem. I put my car in 3rd gear and hit the gas anymore than a little bit and it goes up 500-700 rpm before the transmission kicks in. I honestly don't know what else to do. Nissan over here in hawaii is by the book no digging into the problem just by the book. I refuse to buy another transmission but also don't want to sell my car concidering I am a few payments away from owning it. can anyone help me in this matter maybe there is something I am over looking. I switched fluid also to royal purple just recently and a little better but not helping the 3rd gear problem. ohh and if I leave it in drive and it shifts between gears it shifts slow to 3rd or late, and quick to 4th from 3rd. I mean real quick. it's allmost like the transmission shift to rpm shift is off. once in 3rd it works fine except when I want to go fast.
see I thought that too but looking at the clutch and band chart it show only 3 clutches. F, D, and U/D are the only clutches and only the forward clutch is used for 3rd gear, but is also used in all the gears except reverse of course. But looking at the chart I noticed there is a U/D Brake that is only used in 3rd gear. However the brake once it sets in should stay in. This would exclude that from the list. But then reading more into the service manual I was thinking it might have something to do with the shift solenoid. But that couldn't be the case because it isn't a shifting problem. I mean it shifts into gear funny but even when in the gear it still has problems so that would take the shift solenoid out of the equation. However the pressure solenoid might be it. I mean the TCM sends a signal to the pressure solenoid which tells the pump how much fluid to push in and when.
This pressure control solenoid A controls the pressure regulator valve as the signal pressure and adjusts the pressure of the operating oil discharged from the oil pump to the line pressure most appropriate to the driving state. I found this and kept reading and think since there are not codes and no electical problems and the valve body components are all replaced with better quality parts that maybe I need to reprogram my TCM. I mean it changes according to drive conditions and can be reset and reconfigured to my driving habbits. I guess I could take it to nissan and have them reprogram it and reset my ECM while they are at it. I will call them tomorrow morning. I took pictures of the components after they removed them and found them to be practically new and without noticable wear. So maybe the work on the valve body wasn't needed. I don't know but please provide input on ideas that may not have been thought of. Thanx JRoX85 for your input got me thinking and down yet another path.
no kam not under warrenty anymore. @65k miles now. Had last transmission replaced at 51k miles under warrrenty. Started having this problem around 60k miles. I have to get my paperwork and file a complaint to nissan to get them to cover it and so far no luck.
was it replaced at nissan ?

i know its not what you want to hear but man looks like that might be your only option to kill the damn tranny w/o paying for a new one.
