CEL with Cattman Y-pipe
I got my right precat replaced with a used one and that is fine. However, as soon as my I y-pipe installed I got a P1283 A/F sensor code on the Front(Left Precat). I changed the part out with one from Nissan, cost me $160 plus $40 install at a local mechanic. The CEL went away and came back today with the same code. Do I try to get an O2 sensor simulator or by the part again? I'm tired of dealing with CELs for the past month since I got this car. The mechanic said the lack of the cat in the y-pipe could be the reason, but we don't have a sensor after the eliminated cat do we? It may just be a coincidence since they did the precat and y-pipe install at the same time.

Update: The mechanic used the Modis ECU reader and tested the sensors. They work fine but the swnsoe by the manifold is throwing the code possibly due to back pressure from the bigger diameter Y and lack of cat in the Y pipe. I hope the ECU just needs to learn the Y then the CEL will go away. Otherwise, it's an O2 sim for me. This code doesn't comply with a precat issue when the front precat is good.

How many times have I said it? Do NOT SIM that SENSOR. The A34 ECU (05+)uses wideband sensors which play a role in AF control, more so than the old NB sensors found in older models which are only used in low load operation.

NmexMAX Okay Okay.
Well the mechanic took it to a friend at the Nissan dealership to ldiagnose. Turns out that the right precat goes out a lot on our cars. Moreover, he stated that even though the A/F sensor for the front precat was giving off a signal, it actually could be triggered by the sensor in the rear precat. They are going to switch the sensors and see if that takes care of the problem. It must have been coincidence that the code came on after the rear precat and y-pipe were installed at the same time. This mechanic shop is 70 miles from where I stay so, I'll get it done either Friday or Saturday morning. The car was too hot for them to let sit and cool and then work on for it to be completed today.

He is right, he def knows his stuff. The sensor/s he is referring to has 5 wires vs 4 on the others.
