I hope you still have this price a month or so from now. I've been reading/surfing about the benefit of vented hoods and heat soak. Houston has been running around 100 degrees during the day and it's been killing my cars performance. *crossing fingers you might still have this deal later*

take off the hood sturts or they will put stress cracks in your cf

also you need to use hoodpins as the fg'd hinge will break off and the hood will fly open. destroying it, and possibly you in the process. a hood flying up at 80mph is very dangerous.

look great!
now paint it so it isn't so ricey. you don't drive a honda...

Hey Torgus thanks for the comments (except the the last one ), I didn't realize there was that risk with the shocks, I will leave them on for the purpose of research, this guys make a pretty good hood so lets put it to the test and see what happens .

Im working on a design for a set of hood pins where I dont have to put holes on the hood; fingers crossed on that one

np

blown hood shocks probably wouldn't cause any stress cracks. and i'm just resaying what i'v heard multiple people say regarding hood shocks. and if it does you can always paint it i suppose.

whats the design for hood pins that don't go through the hood? you can't latch onto the fiberglass skeleton underneath the cf as it's very weak...same reason why the latch will break off.

fwiw people drive for months without hood pins and are fine. i wouldn't risk it as i'v had a hood fly open once and it's a very scary experience: world suddenly goes black and there is a big BANG.

anywho nice ride! and thx for helping out the community with new products!

Wow, never thought I'd see that. I would like one without the vents.

Nice.

So are you making OEM style CF ones?

I'm still on the fence as to whether or not I want to purchase a CF hood. But I don't like the vents.

right now there is no plan for making one without the vents, they would have to make a mold and the molds aren't cheap so for now this will be it, and believe me I wasn't a vent guy either, but o boy do look good in person, they flow with the front of the car nicely.

It sure does , and don't worry about the vents hitting your turbo, they don't go any lower than were the factory hoods sits at

shouldn't those vents be semi-functional too? I mean it would help aerodynamics by giving high pressure air in the engine bay a way to escape, and who knows it might help keep things cool too!

Are the vents going to be painted black? I can totally see how this hood can help vent the Turbo heat generated under the hood!!! When I really hit it I can see the heat from the Turbo trying to escape around the hood!!!

the vents would suck out air if in the very front of the hood. 1/4 from the front and further back, air will enter the hood.

Carbon fibre hood on a 6th gen is good look. Helps defeat the touring sedan look I don't like about them cars.

Man That is scorched earth hot! I can see how a White Maxima would really benefit from the contrast. Your silver one is awsome too.
