My old cars forum..
http://www.golfmkv.com/forums/showthread.php?t=10611

I guess they give us no respect, casue they all say he will win..

I had a SGT2 GTI( REVO Chip) and it was very quick 285hp and 303 TRQ( Flywheel) Whp Hp is around 240ish HP and 280ish TRQ. I think it would be a good race aginst my Max. Since the Nismo CAI I noticed the car pulling hard then before.. Lets see whats happens with this.

Yea kinda nuts for $800. Thats all I spent on the car for those numbers. Downpipe W/ highflow cat was only $300 shipped and the reflash was $500. Like you I wish $800 would increase our cars like that. But FI is easier to mod.. Why NO GTR Maxima.. LOL

NO, I'm not racing anyone, there is a kid on the VW forum racing a SER. I was just it would be interesting to follow their thread cause sone of them think their GTI is the fastest car on the street. Do not get me wrong with $800 spent on my old one it was very quick, It would have been a intersting race though.. Their curb weight is the close to ours, They are like 3300 pounds. But all their TRQ comes on early, 1800 rpms..

hmmm... im getting 3500 for maxima on mr. google and for GTI's im getting 2900-3200.

so regardless, the GTI has a little edge in weight. But as for the SER, it would all depend on the mods and if he or she is stupid enough to have a passenger recording the whole event.

All i know is, when driving in my Maxima pimp slapping Honda's i notice a difference in pull when I have my buddy with me. He weighs 220lbs which adds to my 250lbs....

But there is a different feel when i launch... i may need me a light weight pulley... or maybe lay off on the hamburgers...???

This is from VW.com GTI Manual: 3290 lbs (1,492 kg) / Automatic: 3334 lbs (1,512 kg). This looks to be right to me. When I had mine I thougt it weighed 3300 lbs. Close enough I guess. But still weight is close enough should be a drivers duel. If they both are 6 spd's. The VW DSG shifts .5 faster than the 6 spd manual..
