TCS, SLP, and CEL light on
Well. My timing chain tensioner, guides, and secondary timing chains were just replaced over the past two weeks and a new problem developed. I was driving after I got it back from the shop last night. When I was accelerating from a stop, the car bucked and the CEL came on along with the SLP and TCS light. I couldn't turn the TCS back on even though I pressed the button repeatedly. The car was stuck in 5th gear and wouldn't change even with the manumatic mode. It would accelerate from a stop very slowly. Took it back to them and the ran the codes: a cam position sensor code and a problem with the EGR. I searched and saw a TSB 06-009 which went re-tightening and cleaning the ECM ground connections and told the mechanic about it. He said he doubts the ECM connection problem but will check it out. It did notice when I unplugged and plugged back the TPS sensor by the throttle body that the car would be fine again for a few times before reproducing the same symptoms or if it was left off overnight like I found out this morning. The problem is easily reproduced when coming out of a u-turn and or accelearting quickly. I've had nothing but problems with this car since I got it. I spent more fixing it in the first 3 months than I spent in the 4 years of owning my 95 max. I love my max but this is driving me.
well the cam code would more then likely be related to the timing stuff that your mechanic was into. im not saying he did it on purpose but sometimes i even forget to plug in a wire once in a while on a customer car

You may be right. Just called the mechanic and all that stuff is located around where they did the work. Hopefully, it's just a wire they forgot to plug in or tighten.

I think it was 1402. Honestly, I after I returned the car to the shop, my frustration at the moment kind of made me indifferent to actively taking note of the code in relation to the problem. I'll call them back tomorrow afternoon to see if any progress is being made. They said they currently testing the electrical systems of the EGR and CAM position sensor to see if there's a short or bad connection.

It's fixed. They replaced the EGR valve. It definitely didn't seem to be related to the timing chain replacement since it's on the opposite end of the engine. However, the car runs like a champ now. I've been busy working in the ER and haven't had time to fully comprehend why it went bad, but I will on my day off this Monday.

I went back to the shop today for the mechanic to explain what was causing my car to act like that. He said it was the IACV-AACV that was bad and had to be replaced. What could cause that? Has anyone experienced this issue before? Thank God it's resolved. I was about to lose it since my AC went out due to hose suddenly springing a leak on my way to get the timing chain fixed, and then this issue the night I picked it up. LoL I just have to laugh a bit at all of this.
