Motor mounts

Ok, guys a quick question. my 04 SE, sometimes 'jerks' into gear when speeding up or slowing down. It doesn't happen everytime, but intermittently. So i took it to a mechanic and they said that i have a bad front motor mount. Question is the front motor mount and the transmission mount the same? Also could this be a DIY or best left to a shop to do? Last but not least what is a price range that would make sense for a repair like this? Any help would be greatly appreciated. also i'm in the atlanta ga area.

no they're not the same mount. also this is not advanced performance discussion and as such does not belong in an advanced performance section.

I purchased a rear MM for my 04' at cost for $60ish IIRC...so use that as a comparison to what they charge you.

Unless you want to LOWER your sub-frame, I would just leave it to a shop...preferably a local shop that can do it for cheap because a dealership will charge you $500 for parts/labors...IIRC
