I recently bought a set of Goodyear Comfortreds, with I think 80K treadwear warranty. I wanted a good all-weather tire that was quiet, and I am happy with them. (I hate noisy tires on long drives). I'm not really into "high performance" even tho my SL has VDC, and don't know exactly how you're planning to drive your car. However, I recommend these tires. I researched them on (I think) TireRack.com, and they were the highest or one of the highest rated in a lot of different performance categories.

I just got these to replace some crappy (noisy) Goodyear F1's -> http://www.toyo.com/docs/tires/tires...ategory=luxury
not as sharp a turn in but settle quick, are quiet, and are good in the rain, no snow yet but are supposed to be decent.

depends where your located and how much you want to spend!!!... if you go UHP then factor in softer compounds = excellent grip + handling = crap load of fun!!!

Had Pirelli's for years on my VR6 they are not as good as they use to be.... Yes I got rid of my v-dub and joined the MAXIMA team... and I must say it will smoke my old car any day.... Glad I made the move..... Back to tires it all depends your budget and how aggresive you are!
